Deb, Thank you for sharing this information about the Noni Juice. I

did not know that something natural as this does have side effects. I

am glad you found the aricle. Ingrid

about the nurse who got the recipe from the Ojibway indians. I

believe her name was Rene Caisse ( essiac ). I drink it twice a

day. It is $30 a bottle, also called sence. I used to buy the

pre mixed herbs and make it but the time took too long. Two oz in am

and 2 oz in pm.

Ingrid, you are welcome. Actually Jane had posted the mdanderson.org website on

another group and I was looking for herbal supplements to see if they interfere

with chemo. Some of them do have cautions on them. For example, garlic has been

said to lower cholesterol, but at the mdanderson website it says that multiple

cases of bleeding have been associated with garlic use, and cautioned that some

patients may be at risk of bleeding, so stop the garlic if you are preparing for

surgery or dental work. Another one I had read about is alfalfa for health, but

it says there that alfalfa use has some rare cases of pancytopenia (low blood

counts), dermatitis (skin inflammation) and gastrointestinal upset. If this is

you or someone you love, stay away from alfalfa. Buyer beware on these herbal

supplements.

essiac straight out of the refrigerator with distilled water...2 oz

each twice a day. I don't sweeten it. Some folks have laughingly

said it tastes like dirt; I think it is fine. A close friend even

gave it to her son when he was 8 and had cancer; he is now going on

19.
