Guest guest
Well, Phil managed to get through the first service but our ever ready band of nurses in our church figured out right away that he was exhausted and in pain so off we went to the Emergency Room. We did bypass quite a bit and were put in a room with a decent bed though still in emergency. Actually a good thing from Insurance stand point since it is not technically a room and therefore does not run as high as the deluxe suites upstairs (ha ha) Phil had blood work and a CT scan done the results of which we will know Tuesday They did not have to do a drip he had a simple shot of the morphine which worked almost immediately to take the pain down. Dr. Rothman was in and had 2 interns with him and told them 'You know the reason I like Phil so much is no matter how much shit you give him he'll give it right back! But.... you need a fork lift to get this guy to go to the hospital!!!! " Funny but true in both respects. After the shot and the usual waiting game and Phil's usual zombie routine (He fights sleep and you get to see the whites his eyes roll back into his head) they gave him a pain patch which is maybe an inch square if that and lasts about 48-72 hours delivering measured doses not unlike the pain buttons in the hospital. So we are back Phil is comfortable and all is well to gear up for more chemo on Tuesday. We have teasingly said that Phil is just trying to drive us all nuts But the truth is God has him in the palm of His hand where there is the best care of all. God Bless you and thanks for all the prayers!! Narice
Guest guest
Hi, Narice. You warned Phil that you were taking him to the hospital on Monday, but looks like he made it there Sunday evening. He was exhausted. He needs to rest today if he is to have chemo on Tuesday. Hope he gets enough sleep and doesn't fight it. Does the pain patch make him sleepy as well as reduce the pain? Hope you can get some rest today. Take care. Praying for you and Phil and your boys. ~Deb from KS flipper759@... wrote: Well, Phil managed to get through the first service but our ever ready band of nurses in our church figured out right away that he was exhausted and in pain so off we went to the Emergency Room.
