Guest guest
: I am concerned that they have not continued to scan you. I would demand that I be periodically scanned. I am not through chemo yet so I am not aware of how often they scan after chemo but I know it has to be more frequent than in your case. As for blood work, that is the only way they diagnosed my cancer (i.e., very low hemoglobin and elevated liver function tests). That is the minimum they should do. Maybe you should call your oncologist and discuss this with him/her soon. As for Missouri, I have never been there. I am sure it is beautiful, particularly in the Ozarks. I am becoming quite concerned over my care. I have not had a scan for over a year now (July 2004). My gyn/onc does a pelvic exam and pap test every four months. I am due November 2 again. I AM going to ask why I have not been getting bloodwork, scans, etc. Perhaps there is a good reason, I don't know. But it is making me nervous. CT scan with contrast is out of the question. I would have to drink it while in the machine. It will leave my body immediately. That is why I was asking about the PET scans and MRI. I'm wondering if that wouldn't be the best for me since I cannot hold anything in my gut? Listen to me ramble, good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Hi Do you think you will get results of your tests before the weekend? Yes, I will ask about followup scans at my appt on the 2nd of November. He isn't the easiest doctor to talk to. We did not hit it off very well when I was first diagnosed. You know how for some reason it seems the person just doesn't like you and you can't figure out why cause you've never even met them before? I've very rarely ever had that happen but you might know it would happen with someone who is a very important part of my survival:( The Ozarks is a magical place. I'm sixth generation, boys are seventh, grandkids eighth, so we are pretty well rooted here:) We have just had our first light frost. It got down to 29 degrees one night, we used the furnace. Then the next day it hit 78 and I used the air conditioner. And people wonder why so many have colds right now???? hahaha We have beautiful falls. The trees are turning very quickly now. Especially the sassafras. They are usually the first to show color. The hill folk are deep into their walnut harvest right now. A company sets up walnut hulling machines in various locations and people bring in their walnuts to sell to the company. And we usually always take home one bag for goodies for cookies and cakes. I don't anymore since I can't eat nuts:( We live 20 minutes from Big Piney River to our west, 30 minutes from Current River to our east and 30 minutes from Jacks' Fork to our south. Definitely river country. And for the most part, they are still clean and clear. Hope you have a good day, nancy j >>>: I am concerned that they have not continued to scan you.
