Hi Everyone,

I just did a big long description of how things have been for us and

seem to have lost the lot! I am exhausted so here is a synopsis.

My husband had his surgery yesterday, a RS resection and sigmoid

resection. We won't know the stage until the 6 week post op check. He

is doing well, taking little walks around the ward and managing to eat

and drink. He is mostly pleased that he did not have to have a

colostomy and is working at getting out of hospital as soon as

possible! I am hugely relieved he is thus far okay and utterly

stressed out by the relatives demands for info, they seem to be unable

to wait for me to phone, which I do as soon as I have any news at all.

Our children have been fantastic though.

Thank you so much for the good wishes and the prayers,

Fran

Praying for continued strength and recovery!!!

Fran, thank you so much for the update on your husband. That is amazing that he

had the surgery yesterday and today he is walking and eating and drinking again.

Such a fast recovery. I do understand his family calling you all the time. They

are not with him and totally worried about him. Please forgive them. They are

probably out of their minds right now. haha Take care.

If I were you appreciate all the support from the family, that is a good

sign. If you ever need anything it's only a phone call away. I bet they'd be

callin if it was you in the same condition. Usually after the calling they

will start dropping in. It's just because they care though, they don't mean

any harm.

Fran, Thank you for posting. Sounds like your husband is doing all

her can to get released from the hospital. Hope he heals well and

fast. I am surprised that they are going to wait that long to stage

him. I bet that you can get the information sooner. You husband will

see the surgeon while in the hospital. He can ask him. Or you can. It

should not take that long to know where he is at in this. I am

sending healing Prayers for him. Hope you are feeling better. Ingrid

Ah, it is your family that is calling you! Well, they must be worried or they

wouldn't call. Please forgive them, they must be out of their minds. I'm kidding

again, Fran. Actually the one who is out of her mind is me. It is 3:30 am here

and I should have gone to bed hours ago. OMG, I know you are a strong person. I

saw the schedule for the day of your son's birthday. I agree, you definitely

need to sleep and eat. Rest and relaxation would be good for you. Take care. I

am sending prayers for you and your loved ones. :)

Hey Thanks Deb for making me smile. I was weeping earlier, all

catching up with me I think. Please do get some rest too and I

appreciate the prayers. I have been including all folks here in my

prayers too.

Hi Karima, thank you and all others here from the bottom of my

heart. I am very new here but you have all helped me to cope this

week.

I think you were having a runny tummy in an earlier post? (Apologies

if I have got mixed up) My mother who had diverticulitis had to

avoid all those cruciferous veg in order to prevent the runs. I

think I have heard them described as an " intestinal broom " ! My

husband has also alimited tolerance of them. Healthy though they are

I'll bear this factor in mind when he gets home.

Warmest,

Fran
