Looking for some suggestions here, I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that I'm

pregnant and am trying to think of a nice way to annouce this to the family -

last time with DS1 I made some little boxes and put a pair of baby socks in,

covered in tissue paper and put a note on top saying due to be filled June 2000!

But I can't come up with anything for this time - I did think about making a

T-shirt for DS1 saying " I'm goner be a big brother " - but not really sure about

that?

How did you do it? - anybody got any suggestions for something different?

Heres hoping!

Joanne

a friend of mine had a load of pink and blue balloons delivered with a note

saying I can't wait to meet you in (insert month) lots of love baby..

Another friend had flowers delivered with a note saying something in the same

line..

Personally I the first time was that shocked (I had a m/c 8 weeks before I fell

pg and I was really just taking the test to convince myself that I was not pg...

and then there was 2 lines....) that when dh came home and walked up the stairs

I just handed him the stick.. rather surprised myself and so was he ;o) (though

we where very happy)

second time I went and tested and then walked out of the toilet and said to dh I

have something to show you and passed him the test ..

and this time I did the test early morning as I woke up at 5 am and then just

left the test (in dh's bathroom) on top of the instructions and left it for him

to find.. (he did and was thrilled lol)...

nothing wonderful I guess but each time special for us ;o)

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

I feel better already.

Number one rule - wait till you are 12 weeks (or so sick that it is

rather obvious)

Otherwise - you could send everyone a card you've specially

printed up on the pooter announcing it - or just blurt it out

eventually when people start looking at you thinking 'Has she got

fat or is she preg?' like i did.

I only told my Nana this weekend - and I'm 20 weeks!

I gave my DH a present - a little pair of blue booties - when he

alighted from his train after yet another training course away, and

he was delighted but not too sure that it was true - it was!! We

told our parents straight but then he was our first child and a

miracle at that :-)

We haven't had the blessing of any more " surprises " but if we did

then I think the T-Shirt idea is lovely.

LOL !!

When I found out I was expecting DD2, I had taken DD1 along for the

obs appointment...a bad idea as she had big ears and a big mouth even

then, aged 3 and a bit! (DS1 was between the two girls). I told her

that she mustn't say a word to anyone about our discovery.

We walked into our house, DH was learning with a cousin of his, and

DD1 announced to the two men : " I'm not allowed to tell anyone what's

in Mummy's tummy. "

Ethan is too young but with DS3 DS1 ran into the school playground

and shouted on the top of his voice " my mummy is having a baby "

Not sure at what point you are going to announce it but a friend of

mine took some photos round to show her mum and hidden in among them

was the scan picture! It worked really well.

Fingers croseed for you

This was my aim, but fell flat at 9 weeks as my sister was getting

married and we went for our first bridesmaid's fitting that week. I

didn't think I could go through the farce of choosing sexy styles and

being measured without mentioning that I'd be 6 mths preg at the

wedding.

But yes, in theory I would definitely have done this (although I think

I may also have fallen foul on the sickness front too)

That's what we did when we told the outlaws about DS4.

That's a nice idea, but I won't have a scan until 20 weeks - and think that

might be a bit of a long time to wait!

But then saying that my sister got so excited last time and complained she had

to wait too long for DS1 to arrive could I not tell her too soon this time! - I

said perhaps I could phone her up when I was about to push, would that be OK!
