Guest guest
Narice: I am sorry to hear Phil is in such pain and that there is alot of damage to the liver. As for the drugs, if I have access to extra Zofran, can I send them to you. I promise they were either my RX or that of my friend with cancer. The real thing. I am happy to help. in California Phil went back to the cancer center yesterday as he was having severe back pain. They gave him intramuscular morphine and a larger dose of the pain patch. He felt so good that he helped me clean the downstairs! The CT scan showed a lot of liver damage. To answer the question everyone is asking no he can't get a transplant because even though the cancer is no longer in his colon the cancer in his liver is not LIVER but COLON cancer which makes it an ineffective surgery since the cancer can still be in the lymph nodes or even going undetected elsewhere. The bile duct is working properly and the lungs are clear. It does not appear that there is any spread to other organs, but they still need to compare the hospital scan to scans done at the Cancer Center. However the liver function tests fluctuate. We are happy to have the pain managed but realize that while we try to remain optimistic, the situation is nonetheless serious. We worry about money as everything is climbing including the cost of fuel food and prescription co-pays which run up to $50 per prescription for drugs like Aciphex and Zofran. Keep the prayers coming gang. Thanks for your cards, gifts and love Narice [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Guest guest
(((((Phil & Narice))))) Narice, thank you for the update. Glad to see that Phil's pain has lessened and he was walking around cleaning up. Oh my, that must have been a happy scene the two of you working together. The situation is serious, but with God all things are possible. Hang in there. If Zofran is super expensive, could Phil use Compazine? I have heard it is cheaper, but not really sure if it is the same thing. Hugs and prayers to you both. Take care. ~Deb from KS flipper759@... wrote: Phil went back to the cancer center yesterday as he was having severe back pain. Guest guest
Narice, My heart is going out to the both of you. How is Phil feeling today? I understand the money situation too well also. The costs are so very much there and we need to be able to buy groceries too. Am terified since they are talking that the heating costs are going to soar. How are we going to make it through this??? We have to put our faith in God and Pray so very hard that God will provide. But I have thought about storing wood just in case. LOL My son does like to play with fire. HMMM to bads our house is made of wood. Might not be a good idea. LOL Phil is a strong man and I am Praying that somehow the liver damage could reverse. I am Praying so hard. Guest guest
Hi, It seems every day there is another bill. I just realized my chemo doc charged me $250 for my last visit which was a check up where they did blood pressure, weight, and felt for lymph nodes. Are they nutz or just thieves? And I let my house get totally down on food and went shopping the other day and it was $150 (not including the dogs). What do the folks do who have men and children to feed. I just don't know My Onc gave me a referral in New Mexico and told me to do the follow up colonoscopy there, plus scan and not to forget the mamos and pap smears. Other than that he said, just live...........I really will miss him. Praying for Phil and Narice everyday. Karima Re: Phil's update Wednesday Oct.12 Narice, My heart is going out to the both of you. Guest guest
Karima, I am glad that all is well. I think the charges the doctors charge are terrible. We just get poorer and they get richer. Look at all the vacations they take and the cars they drive. We just picked the wrong professions. Not to mention what the chemo drug companies offer them to use their chemo's. It is just plain awful. I just wish somehow this could all be resolved. With what the doctors charge and how the insurance companies are rejecting this and that. Somehow this has got to get better. I am so thrilled that all went well with your appointment today. Stay WELL!!!! Guest guest
Karima, I guess the doc needed some extra spending money. Sorry for the sick remark.
