My poor DH wasn't told anything about these - and thought there was something seriously wrong with him - so much so that he went to see his doctor. IMNSHO it was a bit cruel of > his parents not to tell him... can you imagine not telling a girl about periods I am pretty clued up about most things but I don't know when to expect these to happen to my son - does anyone else know when I should be warning him? My DH is hopeless, he can't remember when they first happened, only that he used to stuff his sheets into the laundry basket and hope that no-one would notice! DS has been circumscised very recently (see earlier postings) and so is very aware of his " bits " at the moment. Also, I read in an article about puberty that " the first signs of downy hair should appear on the testicles at about the age of 12 " but as we have been taking a lot of notice of this area recently (due to the operation) I am a bit worried to see that he is quite " downy " already - I'm sure it's a new development, ought I to be worried at all?
