My DH wasn't very romantic about it, either. He had gone

back to France (from the US) for a couple of weeks and the

night I was expecting him back, he didn't show up at the

airport. I was really upset and then he called to explain,

to say he wouldn't be coming back for a long time, and to

ask me to marry him.

For the next 14 months or so, we only saw each other twice,

when I went to France to see him, and then I moved there

and we got married a month after.

Not a very auspicious start, but it's been mostly good

since
