Hi Ingrid and everyone,

We faced the beast on Monday when we saw all the CAT and PET scans. 2 small

white

spots still on the lung, unchanged from before and the first time we saw the 2

spots on the

liver.

Our Spanish friend with us asked doctor to cut them out, he said no as chemo

would get

rid of them!!!!

In a funny way it was cathartic, I didnt cry (first time ever).... Mike was

strong and the

oncdoc was very upbeat. He called in students to see Mikes horrendous rash,

showed

them and us a manual from the manufacturers showing degrees of rash and there

was

Mikes double indicated as being desired response!!!!

He said that it was Mikes decision whether to take a weeks break from the

Erbitux, Mike

decided to continue and onc doc punched the air and shouted fantastico! We

looked at

him and thought he was mad, he looked at us probably thinking the same (LOL)

Mike did the full lot including the oxaliplatin etc. the antibiotics are still

working and aloe

vera gel is keeping rash hydrated and less itchy, however, Mike does look awful,

people

starred and gave him a wide berth all he needs is a bell.

Mikes taking a daily nap, taking his pills and eating to a timetable now.

Before he would

try and do everything he did before he got ill, a bit like Joe and Phil,

stubborn boys all.

We booked a short holiday to Germany begining of December to see the Christmas

lights

and markets and Mike knows he must be fit enough or we will lose the money

because I

couldnt get cancellation insurance!

Mike had a head on collision in the car a few weeks ago and walked away without

a scratch

!I guess its not over till its over......and it aint over yet ;))

I just looked at the photo of you and Janet Green, you both look so goooooood

and you

look sooooo young, what an lovely inspirational photo that is.
