You don't have to be 'strange' or a 'druggie' or anything of the sort, you just need to. This is why Jenni was complaining about the choice of words earlier. I am amazed that codeine, etc are given out here without a prescription and that I was offered some in the maternity ward without anyone checking on my medical history. (A midwife whipped open the curtain and offered me paracetamol with codeine. I had some and nearly fell off the bed with relaxation. I was very glad I wasn't holding Calvin at the time, though very glad to get some sleep after 27 hours of labour and it certainly felt *good*) It seems that in the US, you have to have an Rx.
