Guest guest
Phil went back to the cancer center yesterday as he was having severe back pain. They gave him intramuscular morphine and a larger dose of the pain patch. He felt so good that he helped me clean the downstairs! The CT scan showed a lot of liver damage. To answer the question everyone is asking no he can't get a transplant because even though the cancer is no longer in his colon the cancer in his liver is not LIVER but COLON cancer which makes it an ineffective surgery since the cancer can still be in the lymph nodes or even going undetected elsewhere. The bile duct is working properly and the lungs are clear. It does not appear that there is any spread to other organs, but they still need to compare the hospital scan to scans done at the Cancer Center. However the liver function tests fluctuate. We are happy to have the pain managed but realize that while we try to remain optimistic, the situation is nonetheless serious. We worry about money as everything is climbing including the cost of fuel food and prescription co-pays which run up to $50 per prescription for drugs like Aciphex and Zofran. Keep the prayers coming gang. Thanks for your cards, gifts and love Narice
