Guest guest
I quit smoking and chewed sugarless gum. Lots of it. Until my jaws hurt. LOL Smoking does relieve stress. It is a comforting habit. Even 12 years after I quit, I was under tremendous stress and thought about smoking again. How easy it would be to get one from my mom's purse and go in the bathroom. No! I wouldn't do it again! I remembered when I would get bronchitis and my lungs felt like they were on fire. After I quit smoking I never had any cold go down and hurt my lungs like that. Maybe a bad cough and congested lungs, but not the burning pain that I had back when I used to smoke. ~Deb from KS Grandmommyandme@... wrote: In a message dated 10/12/2005 11:34:58 AM Eastern Standard Time, brencolinmom@... writes: In the meantime, I hope to g-d that you are not smoking. You need rest and sleep. With Glen's issues, that can be difficult but take all the naps you can. Thinking of you. in California Hi .... hope you are feeling better today!! I know you have my best interests at heart...so could you please tell me a better way to cope...LOL Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle Caregiver to Glenn Visit your group " colon_cancer_support " on the web. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Guest guest
I have never had the desire to smoke mor than likely because I'm allergic to it. My vice is FOOD. Since Phil was diagnosed I've gained 50+ lbs. Narice
Guest guest
Me too I have gained so much after Filippo was diagnosed. I was discusting. Really biiig. Thanks God (after trying really hard) I have lost some. I am not thin still, but I don't look like a wahale anymore. I have also stopped smoking 17 years ago. That wasn't easy either, especially because I used to smoke two packets a day. My husband: doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, doesn't go to parties. Eats a lot of fruit, (especially oranges) loves beans and lentels. We are not great eaters of red meat and we don't eat fat food. (Apart from a bit of oil, eh! Chris) His parents are both 87 and very healthy and yet ....he has got the cancer... Take care everyone, All my prayers and love to every one, Lydia from Italy flipper759@... wrote: I have never had the desire to smoke mor than likely because I'm allergic to it. My vice is FOOD. Guest guest
Dear Ingrid, I am so happy to have you back with us. So sorry for your headaches. I do too, suffer from very painful headaches. Lately, they only happen once a month, and they are really bad. I need to stay in bed, with the shutters close and no noise around. I have been having them for the past 17 years. Before that I also had headaches but it use to happen very rarely. I usually use Indoxen, which they also have in the States. The name is slightly different, but it's the same thing. They are good, but I need to take them just before it starts hurting very much. On the 25th I am going to a hospital where they mainly deal with all sorts of headaches. I have done that some years ago, but they kept telling me that it was something psychological. Which today I really do not think so. I believe that it has to do with hormones. I have been on menopause since I was forty years old. I am now fifty seven. As for what causes cancer, it's really weird. Your example shows how people who eat well, live in a place with no smog and yet, they too, get cancer. Most likely there are so many factors toghether. It may be a virus... Let's hope (and this is what I always pray for) that scientists find the answer and a definite cure for cancer. Well let's not make a book of this e-mail. Love and prayers are going to you, Lydia Ingrid Lowe wrote: Lydia, I often wonder where cancer comes from. My old hayman who is 86 years old raises his own vegtables and raises his own cattle. He has protraste cancer. He still farms. His wife who died recently had breast cancer. I often wonder what caused them to both have cancer. The lived very healthy.
