Guest guest
Stripping paint off of wood actually is not advised because it does not remove all the Lead. The book " Lead the Silent Hazard " explains about this. That even though you remove the paint...some Lead stays int he wood. They actually advised replacing painted wood rather than stripping it.(I know they didn't know) Don't feel too bad, my mom decided to strip all the old wood in our house when we were kids and she used a heat gun to do it. So she literally vaporized the Lead into the air. I am still spewing Lead out of my hair and it's 25 years later. Homeopathic medicine does not chelate anything. Homeopathic medicine simply allows the body to heal itself within it's own capacity to do so. The body cannot heal itself from huge amounts of lead. Instead it dumps what it can, and stores the rest. She got this from redoing their house. Anytime you renovate an old house, you stir up some serious lead dust, which is why they recommend you have a Lead specialist contractor renovate old houses. They use air filtration and protection and cleaning methods so you don't get all the lead. I am sure there is probably more Lead in their house than you think. We found it in places no one would look. The inside of a closet, in the basement on the steel support poles...little nooks and crannies that don't get painted over. In the soil around the house due to the original wood clapboards having been painted with lead paint. The water pipes..some really old houses still have Lead mains. Go to do some detective work... When you visit with children, be very diligent about hand washing before eating, don't put toys on the floor, or eat anything that fell on the floor. Don't give baths if they have an older porcelain tub, take showers. Don't let the kids play in any dirt in the yard. It is always best to keep them out of the basement too. > >He did some renovation on their current house (also old--turn > of the last century) around the time of my mom's second hair test, > too, pretty much removing a wing of their house and putting those > stripped boards back in. > Do you not think it is likely that somehow the homeopathic medicine > she was taking chelated some old lead?
