Hi Frances, This is about Licorice. > It should not be used with HC at the same time. Rather use ACE and HC > at the > same time. " > Dean, not sure what you meant in that last sentence. Is is o.k. to use > ACE and HC at the same time?...and what is it that Andy is not keen on? Yes, it is fine to use ACE and HC at the same time. I beleive this is preferable. It is not okay to use Licorice and HC at the same time. Licorice should not be used long-term either. Andy suggests one week a month. Other sources I know say 6 weeks on and then 2 weeks off. I think this protocol strains the adrenals though as we can't expect repair in such a short time, and what do you do for those 2 weeks break? I've seldom (actually never) known of someone having this problem. Glandulars seems to be very well tolerated, though some have had to start slow (and even this is rare). Guest guest
I am one of those people who had problems with whole adrenal glandular. It may have been the brand, but it did cause problems. I stick with adrenal cortex now. As this is what Andy told me to use. I think many people probably do fine on whole adrenal. Depends on the source and the problems of the individual. > > > >> " Usually the whole glandular would contain some adrenaline, > > I'm taking adrenal glandular now, and it can't contain much adrenaline > > (at least not the product I have) because it doesn't give me the usual > > adrenaline type side effects. > > > > Yes, while in theory whole glandulars have some adrenaline. I read yesterday, on the archives, that Andy doesn't recommend taking ACE longterm. I believe that it was posted on this group as a reply to someone's question. I currently take 325mg of ACE, spread throughout 2 doses. I have ramped up to this amount over a period of 2 months. I am wondering if I need more at this point, or if I need something stronger. But, that's posted on another board Summer

It wasn't ACE, it was licorice that Andy says (in " Amalgam Illness " ) should not be taken continuously. I > believe that it was posted on this group as a reply to someone's > question. Guest guest
Andy has changed his stance on licorice. http://onibasu.com/wiki/Licorice I thought he said a few weeks ago here that any adrenaline in adrenal glandulars would not make it past the digestive system. Jada, may I ask how long you have been taking ACE? ----------Not Jada, but I have been taking some ACE for over a year, along with HC. In the last few months, I increased the amount of ACE I was taking, and now take a minimum of 500mg/day, and some days take more, like 750mg, and have even taken 1000mg a few days. But most days it's 500mg.--------Jackie I read yesterday, on the archives, that Andy doesn't recommend taking ACE longterm. I believe that it was posted on this group as a reply to someone's question. ----------As said, that was a mistake, or some confusion between licorice and ACE. Andy says not to use licorice long term. I have never heard that about ACE.----------Jackie I currently take 325mg of ACE, spread throughout 2 doses. Guest guest
Two years. Thanks to this supplement I no longer have panic and anxiety. I am not adverse to the bright light anymore, not sensitive to noise etc. Andy told me that it was fine to use as much of it as needed for as long as needed. He especially recommended this above hydrocortisone for my mercury toxic children. He said not to use HC on children unless nothing else works AND you have a doctor to supervise it. Personally, I have tried HC and have problems using it. I can't tolerate it unless I take the adrenal cortex with it. I also can't seem to go above a certain amount, without feeling worse. I take 2-3 caps a day of Allergy Research 250mg ACE capsules. My 12 year old uses 3-4 capsules a day, My 5 year old uses 1/4 cap once a day. For me and my 12 yr old, if we don't take, we get anxiety and panic, anger, etc. Symptoms of adrenal fatigue. This supplement is what was used to treat Addison's disease many years back before the pharmaceutical companies came up with hydrocortisone tablets. We did confirm adrenal problems before starting it. However, I have to say that my sister and mother now use it because they had anxiety and panic problems. Which they don't now. There are days when one may need more ACE depending on stress and illness factors. Just our take on it. It has probably been the most important supplement for us. : > > > In frequent-dose-chelation summergrogan wrote: > > --- In frequent-dose-chelation , " Jada " < > > Jada, may I ask how long you have been taking ACE? > >
