Guest guest
Hello 2008/5/19 jim ann carter : > DMSA chelation and Candida (yeast) control is a concern of mine. I already have Candida throughout my body (mouth, blood, intestinal) and need to start DMSA chelation. * Im wondering if you could get a script for LDN? Low Dose Naltroxene has been beneficial in improving poorer immunity in various categories of patients. > > How much should I try to control the Candida prior and during DMSA chelation? I have already reduced carbs and sugar and plan on following the Candida diet during chelation. Should I also start taking anti-fungals, including Nystatin, prior or during chelating with DMSA or wait until I am through? * i am taking anti fungals and chelating on the diet (i have a fungal nail infection). i still have my fibro fog from time to time when taking both. However my nail infection is small compared to your systemic disease. Maybe you could see how the anti fungals help you 1st before considering chelation? activated charcoal is good for helping with die off symptoms (the overwhelming cravings you have with candida). i dont have candida but i know a relative that does. * AFAIK ALA can cause yeast flare ups more than DMSA. Im on DMSA 25mg (not organized enough to go back to ALA). Ive read in the autism treatment book " children with starving brains " that its better to get yeast/bacteria/viruses under control before chelation. However thats talking about kids and chelation can be harder on the kids bodies than ours. * Have you have your amalgams out yet? You would have to do this 4 days before taking any DMSA. > > Going through sugar withdrawal and chelating at the same time - what fun. * Well i have to diet, chelate and take all my supplements all at different intervals. Zinc and calcium cant be taken together, neither can probiotics and anti fungals. > > Jim Ann -- is
Guest guest
From our perspective that what we advise on A-M in regards to candida, is if you wish to be more comfortable, you will need to treat this before, and during chelation. DMSA will make more yeast, as will any chelation no matter what chelator you use. We have found that reducing carbs and sugar is helpful, but often in the cases of chronic candida, antifungals are needed. Using a high quality probiotic daily and either prescription or natural antifungals. We are using grapefruit seed extract in our house. We increase the amounts when on dmsa. This keeps the yeast in control. As is the experience on A-M with chelation and systemic yeast, often the yeast finally disappears somewhere around round 50+ rounds. You will find that treating yeast will reduce your cravings for sugar and carbs entirely. We found this. And only see the cravings reappear when the yeast has gone crazy again. So the 'sugar withdrawal' takes care of itself. So essentially, you want to control the yeast through all this. We see people have more side effects or problems if they don't. > > DMSA chelation and Candida (yeast) control is a concern of mine. Jada, don't you use other antifungals? I have read that candida can develop resistance to antifungals, so it was necessary to switch often the antifungal used. Or maybe it is more difficult for candida to develop resistance to natural antifungals, like garlic (which works very well for me) or GSE and so you can stick with what is working for you? --
Guest guest
A comment here from Andy on why its not good to rotate antifungals too often: http://onibasu.com/archives/am/168648.html Jay > > >We are using grapefruit seed extract in our house. Guest guest
GSE works well for us, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it? I do use garlic for things at times like colds, ear infections. But you don't want to kill everything in your body either by bombarding it with tons of antibacterial agents either. Some of those germs are supposed to be there. And you certainly don't want them to become resistant as Andy's post talks about. If something is given a fair shake and isn't working by all means try something else, but if it's working, there's no need to rotate them or change them. > > > > >We are using grapefruit seed extract in our house.
