With Andy's protocol the only time there will be redistribution will be at the end of a round (and that is minimized because of the low doses of chelator used and taking it at the half life). By increasing the round to a week one gets more chelation days, more metals removed, ie more gain, for that one redistribution event. 3 days, 2 nights is the minimum time that Andy would recommend for a round. Most people have difficulty increasing the number of days on round because they get tired from waking at night. If a person can chelate for a week, that's great. It's a good idea to do several short rounds to get a feel for what chelation is like, get the dose right, before extending the rounds. TK--- Read through the Andy index for many common FAQ's - rest is needed for most people to help their body repair, heal and normalize. Is it to allow the mercury time to come out? TK--- no > > KInd regards to all those out there going through Chelation. , UK. >

Is there any advantage in doing this? ---------Some people feel better on round, so like to do longer rounds, and Andy says that's ok, as long as you can tolerate it. He says ALA is the most side-effecty, so people may need to do shorter rounds on ALA. But one advantage to doing a longer round, is less redistribution events at the end of rounds. Example, if you do three day rounds, you will have two redistribution events per 6 days of chelation. If you did one 6 day round, then you would only have one redistribution event, for the same number of days spent chelating.----------Jackie I would like to know why there is a rest period between rounds? Is it to allow the mercury time to come out? ---------There are a number of reasons, which you can read about in the links below, but basically, side effects usually grow as the length of the round continues, and the body needs time to recover. Copper and zinc can accumulate from continuous chelation, and possibly other things can get out of whack or get depleted, like other minerals. So taking breaks allows your body to *catch up* and/or *rebalance* in a sense. The breaks are not to allow the mercury to come out, that is happening *during* the chelation round.---------Jackie -------I really encourage anybody with these types of questions to spend some time reading at the below links. Jay and Moria have done us all a great service by compiling so many important posts by Andy, these are very valuable resources for us all. So please spend some time reading at these links, and you will understand the protocol much better.-------Jackie http://onibasu.com/wiki/Cutler_protocol#Length_of_rounds http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ANDY_INDEX.html KInd regards to all those out there going through Chelation. , UK.
