Excellent, Narice.... I know it's too long to even hope Glenn would read it.

It would be soooo good for him....maybe I'll just pick out some sections

and print them out individually...where there's a will, there a way!!!

Thanks!!

Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle

Thanks for the post by on hope. I think we all need this.

Today, I went to The Oncologist online (_www.TheOncologist.com_

(http://www.TheOncologist.com) ) and found recent (2005) articles about

treating

metastatic colon cancer and outcomes, including one by my oncologist Dr. Lee S.

Rosen.

Three of the aticles by leading oncologists say the following:

1. " estimated 5 year survival rates ranging from 85%-(0% for patients with

Stage I disease to [less than] 5% for patients with stage IV disease. " Duke

Univ. Med. Ctr.

2. " " estimated 5 year survival rates . . . [less than] 10% for patients

with metastatic colorectal cancer. " Alan Venook, UCLA.

3. " Nearly all patients with metastatic cancer die of their disease " H.

Hurwitz, Duke Univ. Med. Ctr.

I am sorry to raise this, but why do our doctors lie to us? Why do they

tell us it is " curable " and then publish this? I know that no one knows, etc.

and that we all intend to be within whatever percent survives, but I like to

be treated with honesty.

Hi ,

My doctor tells me not read what the Internet says. He gets angry with me. Those

are statistics in general. Some of those statistics are even old. We all react

differentely. So there's no such a strict rule. We are different. Sometimes my

doctor says to me: If Internet is so smart why do people need a doctors? So

, it's very hard, but we need to be strong. Keep your mind busy. Don't

worry so much about tomorrow and neglet complitely today. Think of your trip.

All the fun you will have. You know I force my self (sometimes) to think that I

am perfectly well. This is the only thing that helps me, to go on.

Love,

Lydia

Thanks Lydia:

I know this but it just irks me to see my doctor's name in print on

this. In the meantime, I am planning my trip!
