Lie down for ten minutes and be still and you will go to sleep. " " But I'm Boooooooorrrrrrrrrred. I want to do something. " " I don't care what you do in your room as long as it is quiet. " " But what am I going to do? " " Play gameboy, read a book, color your whale book with your new color pencils, build a fort, pick your boogers, count dust bunnies, I don't care just be quiet! " <giggle> " Mooooommmm! I don't want to pick my boogers. Can I play war? " " No you have to be quiet. " (this as toys are crashing into each other) " Can I play catch? " he asks as he drops the ball three times in a row. " No " " But what can I DOO???? " " I don't care as long as you are quiet " " I'm not any good at being tired. " " Practice " " I meant I'm not any good at being quiet " " Practice " " Moooooommmmmmmmm " " Silence! Or else! " (pouting with head hanging) " all right " (soft tapping sound back and forth, but very soft now) So now ten minutes later he is asleep. Just like when he was little. Sigh.
