Hi Everyone,

I would also like to hear more about this one,

particularly from people who have taken 24hr tests

while chelating, with information about what doses

they were taking at the time. Concern about this is

making me think I should take one, particularly since

I am using very low doses (8mg).

Another possible cause which occurs to me is that if

you had a lot of free metal ions which can be bound by

DMSA or ALA, but only a tiny percentage were mercury

ions, then mercury excretion might be negligible. If

your free ions were 20% zinc, 30% lead, 48% cadmium,

and 2% mercury, it might take a while to go through

all the lead and cadmium to get to a measurable

quantity of mercury (if that is how it works at all!).

But if you had 98% zinc free ions and 2% mercury, and

as a result you excreted negligible mercury, this

would seem to be a problem because your metabolism

would replace the zinc and you might never get to the

mercury. In Cutler's books I have not seen too much

on this particular question.

So I think it would be interesting to hear more from

people on this. From the people who took 24hr tests,

what else did you excrete and how much? How many

people took 24hr tests and excreted mercury, and if so

how much chelator were you taking? And from the

experts, what is DMSA's preference as far as free

metal ions are concerned, and how can these tests be

explained?

Good luck,

Dave
