I was trained as an OR technician and got around a lot in the military and have had my share of stuff (learning by experience as we all do) but am not a nurse. I will never misrepresent myself as a nurse! :)Cheers - Peggy E. Not a nurse - LOL Hope you won't mind my question below Joy... I'm going to use Joy as the reason for my question. I know sometime after we all met in a gathering at Olympia, WA. Joy went off O2. Could not being on the o2 contribute to the PH? I wonder if I use my o2 enough. Although I watch sats and use o2 accordingly. But around the house I seldom use it. Occasionally. If I'm going from front door to docs office and back again I frequently don't take the o2. I'm not exerting myself. I do always use the 02 at night. Anyway, I wonder if I don't use it daily can it bring about something down the road, like PH? ~~ thanks. MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. Guest guest
Sher Maintaining over 90% is the key and I would suggest a strong possibility that you may be pushing yourself under it at times. Just don't let the inconvenience of oxygen ever coerce you into not using it when needed. On the other hand, if your sats are good, then more power to you. Just don't press your luck. I could probably walk across the room without if I was willing to spend 5 minutes moving 20 feet. I just find myself so use to it now that if I'm not sitting, I'm on it. Sometimes I am on it sitting. I know out and about this weekend each situation required me to check and adjust. > > > > > Hope you won't mind my question below Joy... > > I'm going to use Joy as the reason for my question. > I know sometime after we all met in a gathering at Olympia, WA. Guest guest
Bruce... if I get the slightest inkling I need o2, I do use it. I've been caught 'out' doing more than I intended w/o o2 and I knew it was shame shame on me! Most of the time, if I'm fairly inactive, sats stay ok. I'm sure the visit was wonderful. Guest guest
Hi Sher.....I'd say don't go to Dr. R....I really like Dr. Lynn Keenan at NW hospital...she's in constant touch with Dr. R regarding my progress...but, I like her much better.
