Great to see Clangers, Muppets and (my favourite) PLAYAWAY which I watched

till I was 16... but I agree about the Simpsons, I think it's an adult show,

but a colleague with a 12 yr old daughter said " Well, so was the Muppets -

but it worked for children too, and the same goes for the simpsons - it's

multi-layered " . THere was loads of stuff I didn't remember but the

consensus from a very mixed bag of people at work was that the BBc/ITV thing

they went on and on about last night was rubbish, and most of us watched

magpie AND blue peter.

Watched it all! Rob remembers all the ITV ones, and kept telling me I was

deprived by missing out on Tiswas, because we were all so very middle class

watching Swap Shop, and didn't really know what the button marked 3 was for,

in our house.

I DON'T think The Simpsons should be classed as a kid's show.

Belle & Sebastian and White Horses - Saturday mornings in the holidays - bet

you can sing the theme tunes to both of these!! Whirly Birds I only caught

" second time round " , there was a period in the 80s when I had long lie-ins

on a Sunday and used to watch it in bed, ogether with my favourite cartoon,

Janosch' Story Time.

What about the Moomins? Belle and Sebastian? The Dukes of Hazzard? The

Whirly Birds? The Lone Ranger? The Chuckle Brother's (DS2's fave)?

Were Whirly Birds really on telly in the 80's??? I'd begun to think the

programme was a figment of my imagination as no one else has ever heard of

it! Sadly, I saw it *first* time round. ;-)

My DS1 used to watch Belle & Sebastian, but I don't recall White Horses.

Lesley

PS I wasn't allowed to watch ITV, either. I used to be allowed to stay up

an extra 30 mins twice a week if I sat with grandpa (he lived with us) and

saw Coronation St.
