Guest guest
Dear Beigetable, Well I looked at the indices of Andy's posts regarding saunas. And what I saw was a very heated debate of opinions..not so much in the way of literature on benefits and adverse reactions. I can say that I respect Andy's opinion and he has done alot of good for many people including my son..so its fair to say without him I would not be in the same place I am in my son's recovery. ( BTW I have a kid on the spectrum) With that said..In regards to conventional sauna therapy, I guess I can't understand why andy would say that conventional steam sauna would be beneficial, it would seem a person would be trying to sweat out toxins while breathing others in. I saw the subject of High Tech Health mentioned in posts. They sent me some reading material including published studies on far infrared that had nothing to do with any particular companies promoting their products. Alot of the references pertained to medical journals that did studies on mercury excretion through sweat using far infrared. Anyway, the sauna is coming..I know that Tim could not handle a conventional sauna...he can't even cut the grass for 10 minutes. Just like anything else in the world of detox there are many different ways to go about it and not one thing will work for everyone. One persons cure is another persons poison. We'll have to see what happens. I wonder if the stuff they sent me was what Andy was trying to get them to send him??? Carie Beigetable wrote: ((((((((((See the indices of Andy's posts regarding saunas. He warns against far infrared saunas, saying that they can harm mercury toxic people. He recommends conventional saunas. The studies I am aware of on sauna detox were done using conventional saunas, although this research is often cited by those marketing far infrared saunas. And > what I saw was a very heated debate of opinions.. TK-- correct for some of the information. depends on who you want to believe ie someone like ANdy that is specializing in Hg toxicity or someone tryiong to sell a product - in the end your decision. Andy recommenmds regular sauna unless you can get a specific brand of the other [because of the way it is made and distributes heat]. The way heat is distrbuted I beleive is one of the major problems with FIR. not so much in the > way of literature on benefits and adverse reactions. TK--- lots of adverse reaction by individuals posting over the years for both as many Hg toxic individuals do not tollerate heat well I can say that I > respect Andy's opinion and he has done alot of good for many people > including my son..so its fair to say without him I would not be in > the same place I am in my son's recovery. TK--- medical journals are usually written for a particular purpose and are not always or even usually a good source of information. Many companies have these written to push products. Anyway, the sauna > is coming..I know that Tim could not handle a conventional sauna...he > can't even cut the grass for 10 minutes. TK--- a good reason not to sauna as many of us do not tollerate heat well. make sure you can return it if possible. Just like anything else in > the world of detox there are many different ways to go about it and > not one thing will work for everyone. One persons cure is another > persons poison. TK--- correct but here we go by what Andy has researched and use his information to our advantage. He has looked at the sauna problem extensively and I would trust his information much before anyone elses when it comes to us that are HG toxic as others do not understand the problem correctly. We'll have to see what happens. I wonder if the > stuff they sent me was what Andy was trying to get them to send him??? > > Carie >
Guest guest
Funny (Not really) variations with FIR treatments) Ok so I first tried FIR saunas about 2.00 years ago (Before I found AI and before I had my fillings out) and I did not have really any significant reaction one way or the other...At this time I was mercury toxic just did not realize how bad it was...IT seems funny though that the FIR did not bother me then HOWEVER, I tried FIR's post amalgam removal (actually mid January 2008) based upon 's suggestion (even though I knew that Andy said it was not recommended) and had a head wipe out experience terrible head and face burning..so it must have done some mercury mobilization of some sort which maybe was heightened by my having had my amalgam fillings removed and have had what I think was a quite heavy load of toxicity -- > > The type of conventional sauna recommended by Andy, and to which I > was referring, is a dry sauna, not a steam sauna. > > As you may have seen, Andy's warnings are pretty strong; he talks > about people getting horribly worse with FIR saunas. > >
