Guest guest
My boss has 3 boys - , Henry and Theo. They all share the middle name of Fforbes (yes, with 2 f's). Apparently they wanted something original for DS1 so they effectively made up a name, then wanted to do the same again for DS2, but couldn't think of anything so used the same name and by DS 3 (only a few months back) thought it would be odd if he didn't have that middle name too. But then my boss is a little odd (although he doesn't have that middle name himself) Todman Treasurer, Stansted Branch (R5) Mum to , 3½
Guest guest
Been smiling at all of these but now MUST ask - WHAT are the 11 ways of spelling ?!? (ps we know a Finley and a Findlay) Re. telling people when pg, I told my best friend at 6 wks (DH and I both knew at 4 wks, my cycle was like clockwork) and my GP that week. The next person to know was my boss at 10 wks IIRC (for planning - v. important with the timing for us!) and then my dentist (I was 12 wks and needed an xray). I told my dad at 16 wks and my sister a week later (whose reaction was Bloody Norah LOL!) and my closest friend colleague at 18 wks and let everyone else work it out for themselves (as I was over 10 stone before and only put on 1 1/2 stone in total it didn't show much for ages) - DH didn't tell his office till really late and we went out with colleagues of his when I was about 30 wks and they noticed but assumed I was only 3 mths!! Anneliese and Toddler Tim who's got colours sussed now. Re: Re: Silly names <and is it 'Finley' or 'Finlay'?>> Finlay or Findlay according to my traditional and modern name book... finley Finddley Findley, Finneleigh, Finleigh, Finlay, findlay, Finnelay or Finnaleigh according to my very bizare American name book (that has 11 different ways of splling ) Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already. Guest guest
> If naming after places Francesca could have been Fowey or Cross Channel Ferry! > think I prefer Francesca! > Caroline, Jersey Mari could have been named Rhandirmwyn in that case !! Guest guest
There is a firm of solicitors in Nottingham called " Rupert Bear & Co " and the senior partner is Rupert Bear. Even better his office manager is called Teddy Medley!!!! (This is not a joke!) I did some agency work for them a few years ago and this always used to confuse our poor old boy who did the bills when my secretary rang for a bill no. and told him it was for Rupert Bear!! I am sure he thought she was winding him up! Francesca From: " Lonnie Fletcher " > I know someone who named their child Robin.. one drunken night a friend and I did have a good laugh when she could not recall what he was called but could remember it was a Winnie the pooh name and continued to call him eeyore for the rest of the evening.. (never did tell my friend though who would have been hurt but I still think it was a BAAAADDD name to saddle your child with..) > Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama > & expecting a Christmas delivery... > My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. > So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. > > I feel better already. > > >
Guest guest
Beverly wrote I had a neighbour who had a little girl and called her Cydni (said Sidney!) how ridiculous I always feel sorry for children who have names with weird spellings, like Alyzoun for Alison for example. It is bad enough having an unusual name that you have to spell all the time but to have a more usual one with an obscure spelling must be a right pain! Francesca (who also has to spell her surname all the time as well!)

That's way I knew we had to go for something easily spelled and pronounced - the surname is hard enough. -- jennifer@... Vaudin
Guest guest
I hated having a name no one could spell when I was a kid (remember I grew up in Denmark) and I was adamant that WHEN I HAD kids I would name them something normal.... well Phoebe and Eloisa might be normal but spelling wise... everyone seems to want to spell Phoebe pebie or phebe or pheobie etc etc and Eloisa they want to put a u into Elouisa (actually really funny as all the name books I have checked does not have it in with a u).. Still I think they are pretty names and I guess I got over the having a unusual spelling a little.. I do however agree with the alyzoun instead of Alison.. (I know someone who has a jessykhah) it is however slightly different when you are going for names that can have different spellings (like Alistair/Alastair) sorry got me started again but I do love names ;o) Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery...
