Following the Exodus of the Sons of Israel - 14 Days

Day 1 & 2

Depart from home to Egypt

Arrive at Cairo's International Airport.

Reception and transfer to our hotel in Cairo.

" I am God, the God of thy father; fear not to go down to Egypt. " Gen. 46:

3-4

Day 3

Included in our city tour of Cairo you will visit the three pyramids

(Khufu/Cheops Kephren and Mycerinus) and the Sphinx at Giza, along with the

Egyptian

Museum. After this exciting day of discovery we will return to the hotel for

dinner and a relaxing evening.

" And he called for Moses and by night, and said, Rise up, and get you

forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve

the LORD, as ye have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have

said, and be gone; and bless me also. " Exodus 12:31-32

Day 4

After breakfast and a visit to the world famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar we

will leave Cairo following the steps of the Israelites during the Exodus when

they were guided by Moses. We will drive through the Sinai Peninsula, cross

the Suez Canal and arrive at Mount Sinai where we will have our dinner and stay

overnight in one of the guest hotels close to St. 's Monastery.

" And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were

thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the

trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they

stood at the nether part of the mount. And Mount Sinai was altogether on a

smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof

ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. And

when the

voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake,

and God answered him by a voice. And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on

the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount;

and Moses went up. " Exodus 19:16-20

Day 5

Before dawn we ascend Mount Sinai for sunrise prayer at the summit. This is

the mountain on which the Lord spoke to Moses and gave him the Tables of the

Law. After our descent and refreshments, we follow the ancient desert routes,

now paved and still in use as major roadways, until we come to the coast and

the town of Nueiba. From here the Children of Israel continued on foot along

the Red Sea shore, passed through Eloth and entered what is now Jordan. We,

however, shall cross the Red Sea by ferry, enjoying the contrast of the

cobalt blue waters against the red mountains of Edom, docking at the Jordanian

Kingdom on the Gulf of Aqaba. Once more following the path of the Israelites,

we

continue on to the land of Edom, Ammon and Moab, nations in the Bible that

stood against Israel as they came to the Promised Land. Once inside the land

of Edom we drive to Petra, traditional home of Ishmael and Esau. Edom is

mentioned repeatedly in the Bible and was the capital of the Nabateans up to

the

3rd century B.C. Our accommodations for the night will overlook Mt. Hor the

burial site of , Moses' brother.

" And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from

Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor. And the LORD spake unto Moses and in

mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying, shall be gathered

unto

his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the

children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of

Meribah. Take and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor: And

strip of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and shall

be gathered unto his people, and shall die there. And Moses did as the LORD

commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the

congregation. And Moses stripped of his garments, and put them upon

Eleazar his

son; and died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came

down from the mount. And when all the congregation saw that was dead,

they mourned for thirty days, even all the house of Israel. " Numbers 20:

22-29

Day 6

In the morning we visit the main sites of Petra, with its tombs, monuments,

temples and huge public buildings which were magnificently carved with

exquisite detail into the beautiful red rock. From Petra we travel north on the

Way

of the Kings mentioned in Numbers 20:7, 21:22, passing a likely site for the

cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. We continue until we reach Amman, the capital

of Jordan. This city was once the capital of the Ammonite Kingdom, which was

defeated by King 's army. Our afternoon concludes by touring the ancient

ruins. We will stay the night in one of the finest hotels in Amman.

" And the Lord spoke unto Moses that selfsame day, saying: Get thee up into

this mountain Abarim, mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab that is over

against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children

of Israel for a possession. And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and

be gathered unto thy people; as thy brother died in mount Hor, and was

gathered unto his people. " Deut. 32: 48-50

Day 7

Our first stop is Mt. Nebo from where Moses saw the Land of Milk and Honey,

and where he remained, without entering the Promised Land. Looking across the

Jordan Valley we can see the Dead Sea, the Jordan River and the oasis at

Jericho. Meandering our way down along the winding road we leave the mountains

behind and enter the Jordan River Valley. We cross over the Jordan River, as

did while commanding the Children of Israel. Our journey now takes us

south through the Judean Wilderness to visit the fortress of Masada and to

float on the Dead Sea, with its salty, medicinal waters. Then heading north

along the sea shore our route takes us to Ein Gedi, where Saul pursued

and

then passes near Qumran, where the famous manuscripts of the Essenes were

found; among them the complete book of the Prophet Isaiah. Our road leads into

the Judean Mountains and culminates in our own triumphal entrance into

Jerusalem. We bring an offering in prayer and song while entering the city and

viewing the ancient walls. Our accommodations and dinner will be in Jerusalem.

" Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace

be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and

companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house

of the Lord our God I will seek thy good. " Psalm 122

Day 8

Today we drive to Bethlehem, birthplace of Jesus and home of King ,

Ruth and Boaz. On the way, we visit the Tomb of , 's wife. We

continue to Lazarus' tomb and mansion in the village of Bethany, near the Mount

of

Olives, and the Garden of Gethsemane. After this we enter into the walled city

of Jerusalem, ascend the Temple Mount, the height of Moriah; the site at

which Abraham was summoned to sacrifice his son Isaac. We visit the Ophel Park

archaeological excavations around the Western Wall where the original stairs

that led to the Temple are found. Then before returning to our hotel we visit

the Center for Biblical Studies, to recreate the Passover (Last Supper) and

hear fascinating explanations of the Bible.

Day 9

The Garden Tomb is our first stop. Here we will be given a tour and then

hold a special Communion Service. We continue on to Mount Zion, where we see

King 's Tomb. This is the site of the Upper Room, the Last Supper, and the

descent of the Spirit of God on Pentecost, as well as headquarters of the

early Church. Our next stop is to the Temple Institute where we will see and

hear first hand the plans for the rebuilding of the Temple from those who are

undertaking this project. In the afternoon we will tour the new city, with a

scale model of Jerusalem as it existed in the days of Jesus, visit the

Holocaust Memorial (Yad Vashem), the Great Menorah near the Knesset and

Jerusalem's

Great Synagogue before returning to the hotel and dinner.

Day 10

Leaving Jerusalem to travel north, we follow the Pilgrim's route from Jesus'

day that leads through Jericho. This is the city conquered by after

it's walls fell down to the sound of the trumpets of the Israelites. In it we

will see the remains of those mud-brick walls. Here we also recall that Jesus

healed the blind man and spent the night at the home of Zacchaeus. We will

visit Elisha's Spring and take in the panoramic view of the Mount of

Temptation, where Jesus was tempted by the Devil. Following the Jordan River we

come

to the Sea of Galilee, and then to Tabgha, which is the site of the miracle of

the Fish and Loaves. We will also visit Capernaum, the place where the ruins

of 's house along with the Synagogue where Jesus prayed and preached

are still visible. Our hotel and accommodations will be in Tiberias, the

seaside city built in honor of Tiberius Caesar.

Day 11

The day begins with a Baptism in the Jordan River, then a boat ride on the

Sea of Galilee, where Jesus calmed the storm and walked upon the water. We

follow the Jordan River northward to one of its main sources, the Banias, where

we find the site of Caesarea Philippi. Located on the hillside of Mount

Hermon, it is the most likely site of the Transfiguration of Jesus and is also

mentioned in Psalm 133. Afterwards we will visit a Kibbutz, to discover a

lifestyle created and maintained only in the State of Israel. Then we return to

Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Day 12

Upon leaving Tiberias, we drive through the rolling hills of the Lower

Galilee, passing Cana the site were the first miracle of Jesus took place. Next

we

enter Nazareth. After visiting the Synagogue where Jesus studied as a boy

and later declared himself to be Messiah, we will view the traditional site of

the home of and ph. Leaving the Galilee we continue on to Megiddo

(Armageddon). From this ancient city we face the Valley of Jezreel, site of the

earliest battles of the Israelites against their enemies. In this valley

soldiers of Jabin were defeated during their confrontation with Deborah and

Barak. Countless major battles were fought here between the superpowers of

their

day and this will be the scene of the Final Judgment War as told in

Revelation 16. Only a short drive from here we visit Mount Carmel, center of

the

Prophet Elijah's ministry, where he defeated the prophets of Baal. Along the

Mediterranean Coast we travel south on the international trade route of

antiquity

called the Via Maris. We stop to visit Caesarea Maritima, home to Cornelius

the Centurion, the first Gentile convert mentioned in the Bible. Driving on to

Tel Aviv we visit the ancient seaport of Joppa where had his roof top

vision, while staying at the house of Simon the Tanner. In Joppa, he also

restored life to young Dorcas. Our route then takes us to the Eshel Hashomron

Hotel in the town of Ariel; our home for the next two evenings. After dinner we

will hear a lecture about the " Settler's Life in the Third Millennium. "

Day 13

First we visit Abraham's Mountain in Alon Moreh:

" And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain

of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. And the LORD appeared unto

Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an

altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. And he removed from thence unto

a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the

west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and

called upon the name of the LORD. " Gen. 12: 6-8

Then we proceed to Mt. Ebal:

" Then built an altar unto the LORD God of Israel in mount Ebal, As

Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is

written in the book of the Law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which

no

man hath lift up any iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the

LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings. And he wrote there upon the stones a copy

of the Law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of

Israel. And all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood

on

this side the ark and on that side before the priests the Levites, which

bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was

born among them; half of them over against mount Gerizim, and half of them

over against mount Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before,

that they should bless the people of Israel. " 8:30-33

From there we visit the archaeological excavations at Shiloh, the place

where the Tabernacle at Shiloh was erected. There is a magnificent view of Bet

El, Sh'chem and Levona here.

" And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at

Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was

subdued before them. " 18:1

We will return to our hotel in Ariel and enjoy a special Farewell Dinner.

Day 14

After breakfast in the hotel we will accompany you to Ben-Gurion Airport

where you will receive our assistance checking-in. From here you begin your

journey home, amid sweet memories of your taste of the Land of Milk and Honey.
