Guest guest
, We're looking at sunny and 98 here today. A little cooler tomorrow around 90 I think. The heat doesn't bother me though, I actually do better breathing in the heat. As I said, I'm following in that type of plan about 85, maybe closer to 90%. The biggest changes I've made are pretty much eliminating white flour and white sugar. (I draw the line on my birthday though. I want cake!!) I use soy milk in my cereal (other than that I don't really drink milk, never did) but I use half and half in my coffee and that's non-negotiable. I told my nutritionist that she'd get it out of my cold dead hand. I concentrate on eating much more salad and vegetables than I used to and fruit. It's really easy in the summer, especially when my garden is producing well like right now, not so easy in the winter. I love mushrooms so that's an easy one for me but nothing is mandatory. Like anything else you take what will work for you and leave the rest. Sometimes small changes can make a big difference. Hey guys, I just read through many of the previous posts in regard toanti-inflammation diets. The nutritionist I saw today talked about certain foodslike those "white carbs" as no'no's. Of course salty things should be avoided! And portion control is important.Did you know that regular cereals have so much salt? Some yogurts do too! She is going to get me info for me about specificplans to guide me while the docs try to figure out why I am still getting edema! Yep...it's back.Has anyone here been really successful with any plan that is called "anti-inflammatory" . ? I'd like some fee d-back if possible. -- Z 65, fibriotic NSIP/05/PA And “mild†PH/10/07 and Reynaud’s too!! No, NSIP was not self-inflicted…I never smoked! Guest guest
Beth,I copied Weil's pyramid. I sorta follow it already, except I like sweets too.Luckily I like dark chocolate. But I also like cake and pie and I eat ice creamEVERYDAY! So I think I go with the fruit sorbet most of the time.My digestive system seems so screwed up I'm willing to work on this inflammationdiet. Now, if I could just get my husband on this diet I'm sure he wouldn't have so much arthritis pain. Thanks for the information,PJ Anti-inflammation diet? Guest guest
Hi Beth,I'm in total agreement about the 1/2 and 1/2 in the coffee - my day just isn't right without starting with that. I loved the 'cold, dead hand' visual! I think the only breast tissue I have is due to the 1/2 and 1/2 or I'd be as flat as a pancake!LOL,Peggy E. , I've been doing an anti-inflammatory diet now for about 3 months.
