Guest guest
Debbi Thanks for your response! >>I have a chair hammock, it is the coolest thing and Buster absolutely loves it. He could spend hours in it.<< Where did you get your swing? Do you have it inside or out? Thanks Speaking of rocking chairs..Has anyone trying a chair hammock? I heard that alot of children like these. At 's OT meeting, the OT said he was hyposensitive and craves vestibular (sp?) and that part of a sensory diet, he should have time to get Vestibular activity. (at least this is how I understood it, He hasn't started OT yet because we are on the waiting list) So anyway, I read on another board about these chairs and trampolines. I was thinking of getting one of the little tramps.. Have any of you found them helpful for your children? Guest guest
We looked around for a chair hammock, but since it was completely out of our price range, we rigged up a blanket swing in the basement by gathering all four corners of a king-size blanket, tying them, then chaining it to a beam in the ceiling (yay for unfinished basements!) He loves to climb in there and just hang, softly swinging, as the blanket squeezes him on all sides. Mini tramps have never done much for him. I love to save money (I'm an accountant but don't hold it against me LOL) We have a beam in our garage/workshop that I think would work great. Did you reforce the blanket where you chained it to stop it from ripping? How did you hook the chain to the blanket? Thanks (sorry to be a PITB) Warm Regards & ASD 11/25/00 in Maine Re: Speaking of rocking chairs..Has anyone trying a chair hammock? Guest guest
They used to out Greggory in one during his OT sessions when he was little. He hated it but I think that was the point. He was being desensitized. Jacquie H Speaking of rocking chairs..Has anyone trying a chair hammock? I heard that alot of children like these. Guest guest
Just wanted to say that we have found the mini trampoline very helpful. Zach loves to jump when he watches a movie. It also helps him get out extra energy, and calms him. It also has helped him play with his brothers because they will jump with him, or push each other off and jump back on..like king of the mountian. We also recently put up a swing set, and he loves it. He taught himself how to swing independently last week. We don't need to push him anymore. > I heard that alot of children like these. Guest guest
Libby, Do you recall where you bought your? I have been looking and all are over $100 and most over $200. Not that I wouldn't do anything to help my son but since we are building a house, money is a bit tight. Thanks! Re: Speaking of rocking chairs..Has anyone trying a chair hammock? Guest guest
The mini trampoline we bought at Wal-Mart for $25.00 and the swingset was 125.00 (with anchors) at Toys R US. Hope this helps, Libby > > I heard that alot of children like these.
