Guest guest
Hi. I've got a friend with some hormone results. I'm curious if someone here can give input, since I know very little about hormones. She is 44: Cortisol is: 7-8AM: 11, Depressed (Ref: 13-24nM) 11-Noon: 7, Normal (Ref: 5-10nM) 4-5PM: 4, Normal (Ref: 3-8nM) 11-Midnight: 2, Normal (Ref: 1-4nM) Cortisol Burden: 24 (Ref: 23-42) DHEA: 3 Borderline (Ref: Adults 3-10ng/ml) There is a cortisol/DHEA correlation that I don't know how to read. It comes out on the center of the left edge of the shaded " Reference " box. Suggestions: Licorice for AM Cortisol Anabolic enhancement/support: DHEA or Pregnenolone augmentation. Estradiol = 14, Ref: (Post-Menopause, no HRT 1-4pg/ml; with HRT 5-13) Progesterone > 1000 Ref: (Post-Menopause, no HRT 5-95pg/ml; with HRT 100-300) Free Testosterone = 3, Depressed (Ref: Borderline 5-7pg/ml, Normal 8-20) ------------ With the progesterone high, does that mean it's not being used so that there is no aldosterone being produced (which would mean give electrolytes)? If you gave more pregnenolone, as they suggest, wouldn't that just make the progesterone elevation worse? Wouldn't DHEA make more sense? How can testosterone be low but estradiol high? (Since the latter is made from testosterone.) Any other insight would be greatly appreciated! Dave.
