Guest guest
Hello, After years of cleansing and trying many, many approaches at regaining my health. I am finally looking at chelation and looking for any advice. Brief background is have had liver issues the last four or so years - did a number of liver cleanses which helped a bit but also seem to have worn out my liver. Have low bile production, take a bile supplement, and some awareness of my liver, not exactly a pain, that comes and goes throughout the day, some days more than others. I have had fungal issues for twenty years and tried everything possible. My diet is essentially yeast free and strict organic and I have done h202, ozone rounds many times as well as brief iv chelation after getting my three small mercury fillings out. That said, I was an oil painter and constantly exposed to other metals as well, cadmium, lead, etc. My hair anaylisis shows high calcium (1840), extremely high copper (190), low molybdenum (.040), low phosphorus (191), low sulfur (41000), low selenium .82) and very high zinc (610). I am ordering Andy's book but in the meantime, I'm wondering what to do next - DMSA, DMPS, ALA, or natural methods to reduce copper first? How do you choose which is right? I know Andy sometimes suggests not using ALA with High Copper and other times using it... It's a bit overwhelming processing all chelation info at once so any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated. Do all three chelations remove copper as well as mercury? Also, I have a sulfite allergy and don't do well with sulfur, how does this affect me in terms of chelation? Does Glucosamoine sulfate provide the body with some usable sulfur if intolerant otherwise? Thanks much - any recommendations of copper free mineral supplements also welcome. My diet is essentially yeast free and strict organic. You can try out a " sulfur exclusion diet " . Search for that on the Autism-Mercury list, using onibasu.com. If you turn out to be high sulfur (have a bad reaction to high sulfur foods) going on a low sulfur diet might help the yeast problems right there. >and I have done h202, ozone rounds many times as well as brief iv chelation Bad news. >after getting my three small mercury fillings out. That said, I was an oil painter and constantly exposed to other metals as well, cadmium, lead, etc. You have all fillings out now? Have they looked under bridges and crowns? Are you absolutely sure? Are you still exposed to paints? >My hair anaylisis shows high calcium (1840), Could be related to mercury. You will need to show us the whole test. If you have it in digital form, you can send it to Dean and he will post it. Here are directions: http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/hairtest.html If you don't, then take it to a copy shop, and for a couple of bucks they will scan it for you. >extremely high copper (190), This is a problem. You will need to go on the copper protocol. That is basically avoiding high copper foods (nuts eg), excluding all supplements containing copper, and taking molybdenum and zinc. Also, some liver support like milk-thistle with meals and lecithin. Re- (hair) test in 4 months. >low molybdenum (.040), low phosphorus (191), low sulfur (41000), low selenium ..82) These mean nothing on their own. >and very high zinc (610). This most probably means you are wasting it. We can tell better if we see the whole test. >I am ordering Andy's book but in the meantime, I'm wondering what to do next - DMSA, DMPS, ALA, or natural methods to reduce copper first? As above. It should come down in 3-4 months. >How do you choose which is right? I know Andy sometimes suggests not using ALA with High Copper and other times using it... No, he has been very consistent. His recommendations are with your level of copper, you can use ALA one day for every 3 off. For that, you will need to know that (1) all exposures ended more than 3 months ago and (2) you actually have a mercury problem. >It's a bit overwhelming processing all chelation info at once so any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated. Do all three chelations remove copper as well as mercury? No, you don't chelate copper. >Also, I have a sulfite allergy and don't do well with sulfur, You mean you react to sulfites in wine? Sulfite (SO_3) and sulfur are not the same thing. There are amino acids with sulfur (cysteine, methionine) that may or may not be a problem for a mercury toxic person, but not because of an allergy - they have SH groups that can stir up mercury and thereby cause symptoms. There is also sulfate (SO_4) which you may or may not need. >how does this affect me in terms of chelation? Does Glucosamoine sulfate provide the body with some usable sulfur if intolerant otherwise? You are not intolerant to " sulfur " , just a particular molecule that contains sulfur. If you were intolerant to sulfur, you would be dead since the body needs it to function. As for the glucosamine sulfate, you only need it if you need sulfate (epsom salts, basically). >Thanks much - any recommendations of copper free mineral supplements also welcome. Thorne has a multi that is copper/iron free. So does LEF.Org. >Best, > Dave.
