And not that brave to share what and how especially since I should of known. Hmmmmm, I have even gotten turned around and lost horse back riding. Luckly I just let my horse find which way to go. Dumb animal is smarter then me at times. LOL Happy Thanksgivng. Love, Ingrid > > Ok here is my story about how I got lost driving in my own city. > > As most of you know I have only recently learned how to drive ( have had my license for about 2 weeks now) > Well my cousin was getting married , and mom wanted to go to the wedding but didnt want to go by herself ( dad is a stick in mud and wouldnt go ) sooooo I decided heck I can drive I'll take you. > Mind you now. I have lived in Grand Rapids ALL of my life , and am very familar with the Northeast and Northwest side of town, but not familar with Southeast or Southwest. > Of course the Church had to be on the Southwest side of town, right? > Well here we are driving down the highway ( oh yeah did I mention I cant stand driving on highway?) anyhow , I asked mom to read the directions to see what exit we get off of, when she quickly informs me she cant read them . I should have known then we were gonna be in trouble, so I turn off at what I hope is the exit ( it was ) and got the directions and now I am trying to read them and drive ( easier said than done if you dont drive alot lol) > FINALLY we make it to the church , (wonderful gorgeous ceremony with over 300 people there) we leave there and head for the Country Club ( heck I dont even know what side of town it was on ) but we arrived there ok, > We decided to leave about 9pm , well we had directions on how to get to the church and to the club, but no directions on how to get home, and it was DARK out by now. > I called Joe , and he said just get out on Lake Dr same way you came from and follow it out, WELL I did. > I am driving along and its DARK DARK DARK , I have no idea where the heck I am , but I have this sinking feeling in pit of stomach that I am going the wrong way. I see side streets passing me 40th , 50th etc , this is NOT right , so I pulled into parking lot and called Joe , I tell him I think I am seriously lost, and told him we had just passed a University , he said , thats right , it should have been on your moms side, told him I just saw the signs not the building but ok , so we get back on road and continue our way, at this point the streets are continueing to get higher in numbers ( this just IS NOT right ) when I get to 76th street Joe calls me , mind you I am NOT an experienced driver , so here I am LOST as all get out , its completely dark ( no street lights way out here ) and trying to answer the cell, finally get it , and my dear darling husband says , umm hun I think you ARE going the wrong way!!!!!!! > GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR > I TOLD HIM!!!! > so finally get turned around going the RIGHT WAY , about 20min later mom said hey there's the country club ( that we just left ) yes mom I know , you see apparently when we left the club we should have turned left and NOT right as Joe had said . > > The lesson learned , next time bring a MAP!!!!! > hehehe > So what should have taken us maybe 15min took us 50min lol > I swear I am not driving in unfamiliar areas EVER again ( least til next time > > Deb > > > 33yrold husband Joe, was diagnosed with CC in Sept, > resection on Sept 27th 2004 > found mets to the abdominal wall lining 3 lymph nodes involved > open wound from infection until Jan 2005 > Ileostomy reversal Dec 7th 2004 > Chemo regiment begun Jan 2005 > 5fu/levorican/Oxaplatin/ Avastin added Feb 14 2005 (Happy Valentines > Calcium Magnesium added for the Tingles Feb 28 2005 > Ct Scan done March 23rd 2005 , 16 millimeter cyst like object on liver found > April 1 2005 PET scan done awaiting results > April 11 PET SCAN SHOWS NED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > May 9 Plateletts are low 75,000 > > > > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo!
