Poor man. I am so sorry about the itching it must drive him crazy. I really don't know why, but beyond his arm, I felt there was a beautiful man. I'm so sure it's like this. And don't be jelous ! (LOL) My prayers have not stopped for you and him. love, lydia LOL...not jealous. He is a beautiful man, sometimes...LOL His whole body itches and it does drive " me " crazy.... cause I know he's going to nick one of those sores and start bleeding. If he would wear a long sleeve shirt, it might help, but he doesn't even own one. I would go get him some if he would wear them.... you know, I'm just thinking, now that he is chilled/cold/shivering all the time, maybe he would wear like a long sleeve pullover tshirt type...think I'll buy one today and see. Thanks for the prayers, sweetie. How's it all going with you?? Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle Caregiver to Glenn

But with the itching maybe there's a medicine that can alleviate his condition. You know the type you use for kids when they get measels. ( I think it's measels that give so much itching, is that so, or is it another type of kids disease ?) Maybe this would help him. Or, those bands, ( I can't rember the name, Garze? ) that they use at the hospitals. Here I am... a little better, but the weather after two days of nice sun, turned out gray and dark again. Yuk! I keep turning the lights on, but my husband keeps turning them off. He asks me why do I need the lights in every room, if I am only using it one. Not only that, he keeps reminding me that those lights are not for free... Any way a bit of patience ... Take care Donelle, as always, my love and prayers for you and Glenn. Lydia yes, Lydia...some of us just " need " sunshine to the brain to function properly. There is a name for that... it's called " SAD " syndrome...have you heard of that?? Seasonal Affective Disorder. I have suffered with this for years... that's why we traveled so much during the winter to other places with warmth and sunshine!! Grey cloudy days are the worst!! Just don't feel like doing anything!! Some of us suffer more than others with this..it can become debilitating at times, if there are other circumstances going on in your life, too, that are depressing. I have a special light bulb in some of my lamps... darned if I can think of the name of them right now. They are expensive to buy, but I feel well worth it, even if they only help a little. My Mom used them, too. They did give Glenn some Benadryl which is what I'm thinking you are thinking of, but it made him sick to his stomach, but we have a lotion that doesn't smell very good, but does the trick. It's called Sarno Lotion and can be bought over the counter at about $11 a bottle. He's always sleeping when I leave for work, tho, and it's during the day that he scratches the most...I always put it on for him when I get home and before he goes to sleep. Wish I knew more about the " bands " you are speaking of... I'll ask the Hospice Nurse today... might help even more. Thanks, Lydia. If Glenn's cold, though, it might irritate him more, but you might try it once. Will try anything once!!! Thanks!!! Guest guest
Lydia, If he keeps turning off the lights, light some candles in some of those rooms. They're not free either, but somehow they don't seem to annoy frugal people as much as lights do, and they smell good besides....lol mily wrote: Hi Donelle, Maybe you can find him a soft, cotton, light sweatcher. Guest guest
The candles would be a calming effect to get you through the doldrums, but the electric light provides the UV rays that folks who have SAD need. I have seen a tv show about these light panels you hang on the wall, that are used for folks who really suffer from the lack of sun light. Folks in Alaska have that problem in the low sunlight days. Still can't think of the name of those lights....they do work.... and the light panels are even better, if you want something like that hanging on your wall... I have never seen it over here. Some years ago, over here, I was suppose to go to the hospital to do this treatment. I believe that you can only do this at the hospital, here in Italy. I do prefer however, to have the regular light bolbs, instead of the white ones, which consume less but are too cold for me. love, lydia O.K. so my brain is still not working today... I went to google.com and typed in " light bulbs for seasonal affective disorder " and there are lots of sights to check this out.... one of them is _http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/light_therapy_13_ct.htm?gclid=COvEuZ3l4YEC\ FRFSPgod1AmymA_ (http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/light_therapy_13_ct.htm?gclid=COvEuZ3l4YEC\ FRFSPgod1AmymA) The ones I buy are about $7 each and last a long time...the theory is when the light is on and for instance you are reading, the light bounces off the book and in to your brain....simple layman terms...LOL Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle Caregiver to Glenn
