Hi -

The HC taper was something prescribed by . I imagine the

schedule is tailored to each person, but I took 80 mg HC at 9 am each day

for 1 week, 50 for the next week, and am now finishing a week of 20. I'm not

sure what's next. In any case, this taper is different from the one

suggested by Andy in AI. My response to the taper was not typical (lack of

excess hunger, weight loss) so I can only guess that the supplements

(biotin, niacinamide, PA) made the difference, especially since I've always

been a person that doesn't tolerate carbs and gains weight easily.

I started the biotin, niacinamide, and pantothenic acid on 's

recommendation. My " diagnosis " is mercury poisoning. If you're wondering

about symptoms / history - I had a mouth full of amalgam from an early age

(don't remember when I got my first filling but had 14 cavities in my early

teens), had several replaced with more amalgam in the late 80s after which

my symptoms started. Symptoms: chronic fatigue, brain fog, frequent

migraines, weight gain, exercise and heat intolerance, occasional unsteady

gait, eye floaters, poor memory & concentration, insomnia, more (the usual,

I guess). Currently I'm 63.

After the fact I researched what the above supplements did and found (just

briefly) that they support the adrenals, help with blood sugar regulation

and fat burning, and a host of other beneficial metabolic things (lots of

info out there if you do a Google search). I might also add that I'm on a

fairly high fat and relatively low carb diet, and I believe that eliminating

much of what my liver can't handle (diet low in salicylates, phenols,

sulfur, amines) has helped. I remember reading in the past that if you're

eating anything your body is sensitive to, it will be hard to lose weight.

After educating myself a bit on the liver phase 1 and 2 detox pathways, this

whole thing makes a lot more sense to me. Food is now rarely a struggle, and

I actually enjoy what I'm eating. An added bonus is that my digestion is

working much better.

I hope this answers your questions. One last note: I'm not yet chelating.

Soon I will get the last of the amalgam cleaned up, and then I'll start with

DMPS.

Best,

Dana

Dana, can I ask what the rationale was for taking those 3 vitamins in

those amounts? What was your diagnosis?

Also, how long were you on HC before tapering off?

Dana, I see. I thought you'd been on HC long-term and had discontinued

it with a taper. Clear on that now.

Thanks for the info in your post, it sounds like things are really

working out for you. I expect chelation will be the icing on the cake.

Cheers,

.
