Guest guest
Oh do you have my sympathies! Those attacks are way over the top of a pain scale! Is there a reason you do not have them removed? I found there didn't seem to be anything that "prevented" an attack and nothing that helped the pain until the attack was over. I hope you enjoy your visit with your son...where 'out west' are you going?? MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! gal stones I have just had an attack of gal stones and was wondering if there is anything I can take to help with the pain. I had an ultrasound done after my first attack and it showed a large stone. All my Dr. said was to eat a low fat diet. Maybe someone out there knows something about gal stones. I am going out west to visit my son on Sat for a couple of weeks and am hoping not to have any additional problems.
Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the advice. When I get back from my son's I will see if the Dr. will take the darn thing out. Meanwhile I will try to watch what I eat. It is to Edmonton, Alberta that I am going to see my son. Unfortunately when we go out there I will have to tell him about my IPF as the rest of the family here knows and I wouldn't want him to hear it from someone else. I'm not on O2 but have to have the 6min walk done again in Aug. but the Dr.put me off work until at least the 28th of July and maybe permently. I thought I would really mind being home all the time but so far it has been good. Hughena dx IPF Feb.
Guest guest
Baked sweet potatoes were my best friend while I was waiting to have my gal bladder removed. Plain mashed potatoes digest well also. 33 FL IPF dx 1/06 > > Thanks everyone for the advice. When I get back from my son's I will see if the Dr. will take the darn thing out. Guest guest
I ate a lot of baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli for dinner. Lunchtime was usually a turkey sandwich with tomato on whole wheat - hold the mayo. Breakfast was often poached eggs on unbuttered toast. Guest guest
I also had a gall stone show up on my Chest CT, but I've never experienced any problems. I 've read that other folks have changed eating habits due to the stones and that they have had pain. Do you think we need to do anything different? I know I should check with my doc, but I was just curious. Subject: Re: Re: gal stonesTo: Breathe-Support Date: Friday, July 10, 2009, 1:18 AM I have the same thing Steve. Guest guest
Adrienne, I found out I had stones over 3 years ago now. They are there on every chest ct, along with a slightly enlarged spleen but I've had zero symptoms so I've had no reason to change for that. I've changed my eating habits alot in the last 6 or 8 months but it's had nothing at all to do with my gallbladder. Just a matter of making better choices for me.
