Guest guest
With 's reports about how wonderful chelation is at every 2h I decided to try it. Last round I used 12.5 mg ALA at every 3h, and I was fine for the whole round and after - the round was completely uneventful. This round (started today) I kept the same dose at every 2h intervals. Today I am so exhausted I can't do anything. I'm even having trouble sitting up to read. My question is - should I stop the round or switch to every 3h. I guess the " rules " would say stop the round? J

Guest guest
I would consider stopping the round rather than changing the dose timing IF you know you are sensitive to dose timing. The first time I tried 90 minute dosing, I was late by just under 1 hour for my 3rd dose around lunch, and I felt progressively worse that day. I had to stop the round that night due to unusual nausea and malaise. With the exhaustion you could be compounding the situation. It usually takes me 2-3 rounds to figure out if a higher dose is okay. Usually the first round at a too high dose feels " uneventful " and I figure it out after a couple more rounds. You could be burning through cortisol reserves the first round and not know it, for example. Jay > > > With 's reports about how wonderful chelation is at every 2h I > decided to try it. Guest guest
Hi , Sorry to know about your problems. I agree with Jay and and would stop the round. I don't think that changing back to the 3 hours schedule inside the round would be a good idea, since your chelator levels would change and probably this would produce more symptoms. In http://onibasu.com/archives/am/229447.html Andy says: " The utility [of the more frequent schedule] is just to make it more tolerable, it doesn't make it magically work a lot better for most people. " I suppose that those who are fast metabolizers are those who benefit more from the more frequent schedule. What I didn't know is that it can worsen side effects, this is the first time I read that this can happen. I hope that coming back to the three hour schedule will fix the problem. If this is not the case, the other thing that occurs to me is to consider possible yeast problems. Probably there are other causes I am not aware of, but my understanding is that candida is such a common problem that it is very worth to check it. For me, eating sweet things (even fruit) has an incredible devastating effect and makes me exhausted. Bread is also a very bad idea. I also have to take nistatine (1.500.000 IU) three times per day every day and if I miss it I worsen very soon. Yesterday was the second day of my current round and it seems each second day my symptoms worsen. However this worsening only last for half a day or so, after that I improve a lot and can continue the round up to 7-10 days. I don't know how common is this. You are reporting side effects in the first day of your round, isn't it true? How many hours after starting the round did you feel worse? Hope you will feel better soon. Please, keep us informed. > > > > > > With 's reports about how wonderful chelation is at every 2h I > > decided to try it. Guest guest
Hi , Doesn't ALA cause the body to hold onto Copper at the expense of Zinc and Molybdenum? - that would be a cause for fatigue - maybe check if adding some more Zinc and Moly could help. The Moly will also help with yeast overgrowth. And while I know that high Copper low Zinc is bad for the thyroid I'm not sure if there's another mechanism by which ALA is hard on Thyroid and Adrenals as others have reported. I would also stop the round and do some damage control with Liver/thyroid/adrenal support herbs and vitamins. Are you using Sea salt to keep the mineral balance steady - Being too weak to sit up in bed sounds like the rag doll effect you get with mineral imbalance like when you have diarrhoea and vomiting. No one gives out medals when we push ourselves too hard - better to be gentle on yourself and use what you have learnt from this round to make the next ones more effective and easier. Gail. Guest guest
I'm wondering if doing timing more often (2hrs) would work better if the dose was reduced proportionately, for instance if you were doing 25mg every 4 hrs, that was too long, then went to every three, reduce the dosage by 1/4, or if you went to every 2 hrs then reduce it to 12.5 so you are still getting the same amt of chelator in the end, just taking it more often. Marcia I would consider stopping the round rather than changing the dose timing IF you know you are sensitive to dose timing. My question is - should I stop the round or > switch to every 3h. I guess the " rules " would say stop the round? No, it would be OK to switch to every 3. Just changing one thing once during it is OK, a lot of variation is not. I doubt it would make it all better promptly however. > > J >

I had to stop the round a little early because by the 3rd day I got so irritable, emotional etc. It was also the first time I had done ala alone for awhile but not the only time. Never had a reaction like that before. I think every 2 hours was too much for me too. Val
Guest guest
I really feel sorry to hear that, particularly because I might have some quote of responsibility in those bad side effects of you and of as well. I do hope both of you feel better now. My apologies. Right now I really don't know how common is to do better with a very frequent schedule. What seems to be clear is that it is possible to do worse and I was unaware of that. > , > > The last round I did with ala only, I switched from every 3 hours > to every 2 hours. Guest guest
, I've read alot of people do better with more frequent dosing schedules. Please, share away. We're all learning here.
