Wow, my new HCl supplement has about 300mg in each tab, and it says to

take one with each meal. Just how much do we need?

--------I'm sure this will vary by person, and I believe has said

that if your stomach lining is weak, then you may have to build it up slowly.

But I was told to start out with one capsule, and then keep adding one at a

time, until you feel a burning in your stomach, then this is too much, and then

to back off by one capsule, and that should be your dose that you need. You may

need more with larger meals and a little less with smaller meals.

So, try one capsule with a meal, and if you feel nothing, then try two

capsules, still nothing, then three, etc. I was told up to 5 capsules by one

doctor. told me 3-4 with larger meals, and 2 with smaller meals. 4 seems

to burn sometimes, but 3 seems fine.

If it does burn, you can take an antacid, such as Alka Seltzer Gold, or baking

soda, etc. (minerals are alkalizing).-----------Jackie

Also, is there any standard advice about particular digestive enzymes?

There seem to be lots of different suggestions here.

----------Andy says that the animal derived digestive enzymes are far superior

to the plant based ones, so I guess that's the main thing I would look for.

Like the one I'm using comes from porcine (pig). Not sure if the brand really

matters alot or not. Probably just a trial and error thing.

I know alot of the autistic kids use the Houston enzymes, and there is alot of

info at www.enzymestuff.com, which I believe someone from the Autism-Mercury

group put together. Hope this helps!--------Jackie

Thanks,
