Guest guest
I just to add my 2cents to this topic. A few months ago I went to hear the mad cowboy at Yale university. He is the man that was sued with Oprah by the meat industry. He stated that in May 2008 a young woman died of mad cow disease and if anyone wants to go to Youtube and see that there are several recent reports of mad cows in spain, canada etc. My point being that its prob true that we do need some animal protein, I dont believe we are consuming our grandparents' meat. As we all know in this forum , there are forms of corruption that are hard to stomach. I am a quasi vegan for that reason but I do consume raw milk from a farm 5 mins away and i do have some eggs from local hens or at least organic from trader joes. I also eat seeeds, nuts, legumes. I hope people in here dont think that Mcd is that meat that they need or arsenic chicken from kentucky etc. We are being bombared with toxins from many places. Know your source. Life is more complicated now than 20 years ago unfortunately. Vivian

Lest my general commentary be misconstrued, if you DON " T have a sulfur food problem and want to be vegetarian, there is no problem getting enough protein by eating dairy and eggs. It does become more difficult if you are vegan, AND have a sulfur food problem, and especially if you have a high protein requirement due to health issues (even a sulfur food tolerant vegan with high protein requirements has trouble). For some people a vegetarian or vegan diet is wonderfully helpful and in fact therapeutic - before all the nasty psych meds it used to be used in some insane asylums and was quite beneficial to certain types of patients. It is also very good for certain 'regular' health problems, for example gout (which you can get from lead poisoning). The real issue is to steer your way past incompetence (ADA, AMA mainstream views) and moralism to find a diet that really works for your body. > > Vivian >
