Amazing wigs - do they all have their own long hair hidden away underneath there somewhere? Or do they cut it really short? Remember they *were* all dressed up for an occasion. Tammy has very short hair I know; otherwise I think the girls have varying lengths of hair, some longer, some shorter. Over the years I have personally found that very long hair under a wig is a bit of a problem in that you have to tie it up or clip it up out of the way, and then you have a bump under the wig. Medium length hair tends to stick out at odd places, so now I have a boyish crop under my wig, but the younger ones still keep their longer hair and deal with the bumps! Avigayil's natural hair is like a scouring pad, red, very very thick and very very curly. Over the years of wearing a wig her curls have tamed a bit, but she still knows when to get her hair cut; when her bushy hair prevents her from getting a wig on at all! Even tho I have a boyish crop that nobody sees except DH, I still colour the grey away at regular intervals! Ruthie

Sorry, you obviously missed an earlier thread ) Our religion requires us to cover our hair after marriage, any way we want to, hats, scarves, etc, but wigs are by far the prettiest way. (like can you take wig/hat etc off when you are at home with only yourself and family or does it stay on then to??) Rather like the idea of wig's you could have several and change after what your mood is ;o).. Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already. But practically when I am at home, I do cover my hair *somehow*, usually with a soft cotton turban-y scarf thing, or I have one at easy reach in case the doorbell rings. Wigs are lovely as you say; I have straight ones and curly ones; and I can always have one perfectly washed and done for an occasion in the cupboard, and I need never have a bad hair day! But they are hot to wear in hot weather, and the blazing Israeli sunshine doesn't do them any good, so I tend not to wear wigs in very hot weather, at least in the daytime; I wear cotton hats or turbans in Israel, and only put a wig on in the evenings when we go out. The wig I wear most often, particularly in the UK, is my " hat wig " . It is a " fall " of shoulder length beautiful European human hair, but the top, instead of being hair, is just a netting, and you wear a hat with it, so the top is hidden. It's very comfortable, you look more dressed than if you just wore a scarf or hat with no hair showing, and it is easier to care for than a full wig too. The hats I wear with it are cotton pull-on type things worn low on the forehead as the wig has no fringe. It is a very popular " everyday " wig solution for a lot of my peers. to give you a vague idea look at http://www.headwear-etc.com/wigs-hh-hatfalls2.html but my hat wig is straight and not as long as either of the two wigs, plus my hat is more head hugging and has no brim. More like a pull on beret. Ruthie (it's hard to explain!)

I had a haircut on my DS3's due date - the quickest haircut my hairdresser has ever done I think, she was so convinced that I was going to produce right there. DS3 was born the next day, so she wasn't that far wrong! Guest guest
I loved the photo of " your girls " Ruthie, and can't imagine what it must feel like to have five such lovely adult daughters. You should be very proud of them and I bet the ones that have kids are good mums. I'll probably never know as after three boys I think that will be my lot. I did go and have a look at Yeshaya's Barmitzvah pictures and cannot believe all the problems you've had with him - he just looks such a sweetie, as though butter wouldn't melt in his mouth ;o)))))) I *do* realise it was 2-3 years ago! Hannah Re: my girls We had something similar done on the occasion of Yeshaya's Barmitzvah; but that was three years ago and I have had three more grandchildren since then... My MIL has informed us that this is what they require for their golden wedding!! We've got a couple of years to organise it, but I can see it being interesting as BIL lives on the Wirral, while the rest of us are north London/Herts, plus the oldest grandchildren will be approaching their twenties, and could be very difficult to pin down! Yes I feel very privileged and I always have a nice girlie chat when I want one! Yeshaya *was* cute once ) No, he isn't that bad now, just a teenager. He still has a very good nature when he isn't trying to show off about how uncool it is to be nice to one's parents! He's just called from yeshivah...sounds really happy!! I was wondering today Ruthie, if you feel he should be here with you in London, rather than in Israel, given the political climate. Although having heard Israeli air space is a no-go area ATM, I guess you couldn't pull him straight home even if you wanted to. -- Sue

He's in a " very safe " (as safe as it can be, anyway) part of Jerusalem, well watched over and kept out of central areas. We are going out there ourselves soon. Guest guest
My last hair dresser was very concerned when I booked a app for 36 weeks.. lol (no no kids) But I did use to like the freak people out when they would ask when is it due and I could say Today or, yesterday or last week lol then they start thinking Oh gosh boil some water you can see it (though I doubt any of them would know what to do with the water ;o) ) Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery...
