Guest guest
I don't normally - but today has been an exception. I know that one of my friends is safe as he was in the UK this week - but I've just heard that about 5 of my ex-colleagues and other friends were working at the world trade centre this week and no one can contact them - worried sick here, my parents down in Florida are safe - their offices next to Kennedy Space Centre have been evacuated as has KSC - it took my father nearly 5 hours to get a phone line out of America to get in touch. Guest guest
I'm so sorry , I really hope everything turns out OK for your friends. If I had even the slightest belief in God I'd be praying - but I would be hypocritical to pray when I've been atheist for so many years. I am trying to think positive thoughts and if there's such a thing as non-religious praying, I'm doing it! Kerry
Guest guest
I'm praying; seems pretty global problem going on here needful of prayers and for the victims and their relatives...am very worried myself that the brother of a close friend works in the world trade center; and husband of a cousin works in that district and praying seems to be the one constructive thing I can think of to do; concerned with the speculations of Afghani involvement because of their previous fulminations towards England/London/commerce too; and DH won't leave this 'important' work and come home (am probably rattled anyway because was helping someone who'd broken down on the A3 on Sunday when a car ploughed into the back of them and I only just got out of the way of the shunted car, well it did touch me but have been rattled by it a bit)... Any advice on what to do with my friend? - DH thinks I ought not to phone her and after all my concern is less than hers - will phone my cousin's brother (also my cousin) when he's due back from work. Some of the live coverage has been so distressing and I've felt like an interloper watching it as if it were some sort of tv drama, doesn't seem quite right to see this whilst it's going on just standing around in my sitting room.. I have been watching since first saw messages here - horrifying images. Am so relieved that all my family are safely home now, yet it's an illusion. What has happened was unimaginable, I can't begin to think what might come next. Amazing that we can see it happening virtually as it happens Sue
