You are right that it is impossible to hang onto the dignity in some circumstances. Speaking as an ex-nurse I can visualise the scenes only too well. I hope that Glenn will feel able to use the walking frame as it must be a huge worry to you otherwise. Is it insulting of me to suggest a commode? I think I can hear Glenn's response from here........ Hope things are better tonight and that his strength picks up, that diarrhoea must be so debilitating. Warmest, Fran Hi Fran... yes, I'm sure as a Nurse, you can visualize what a time we had early this morning... I was washing clothes and throw rugs and rags at 4 a.m. I live in a condo, so I'm sure my neighbors loved it, but I had no choice!!! No one complained, tho. Glenn has been using his new friend, the walker. I think it helps him to feel much more stable. Surely makes ME feel better!! It's not insulting at all to suggest the commode...and I'm soooo glad you did. I have my Mom's still in the closet and got it out tonite to put by the bedside for Glenn. He see's it there, but hasn't said anything.... LOL The diarrhea is so very debilitating and surely drains him of a lot of strength on a daily basis. He hasn't been out of the house only 3 times since the end of Aug. He keeps talking about it, tho. He wants to go to his company Christmas party next weekend and I don't know whether to go buy clothes for him or not. He was an XXL before and probably a medium now only b/c of his shoulders... has nothing that fits. I have no clue how he thinks he will be able to go to the party, but guess I should be ready just in case. Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle Caregiver to Glenn
