I started where I left off - 25mg DMSA every four hours. I finished three rounds and had to stop because of digestion/bowel issues that have me in constant discomfort. I don't want to continue chelating until this subsides. -----------Possibly starting back up where you left off at 25mg was too much for you. If/when you do try again, I would suggest lowering the dosage.-------Jackie Three years ago, before I learned about Andy's protocol I had a DMSA/DMPS challenge test that showed a high level of mercury and a very high level of lead. I know that the challenge test is not good for diagosing mercury - but I don't need any tests to know that I am mercury toxic. But I would like to know if the challenge test is a true indicator of lead toxicity. -----------I'm not very familiar with challenge tests either, but if lead showed up, then it came out of you! And Andy says lead is something to take very seriously. He discusses it quite thoroughly in his hair test book, so I would suggest getting it, regardless if you have done a hair test or not. But if you have done a hair test, have you posted it to the group? Sorry if I've missed it, I haven't been able to keep up lately! But according to HTI, lead is known to cause digestive problems, so it may very well be a problem for you, and the DMSA maybe aggravated this somehow? Especially if the dose was too high. So I would suggest ordering HTI to learn more about lead, and you could also use onibasu to search archives about it also. And Jay has gathered info here too on the wiki.---------Jackie http://onibasu.com/wiki/Cutler_protocol#Treating_lead I have been sticking with the DMSA because of the lead but would like to try DMPS. ----------Cutler says DMSA is the best for lead, so I would encourage you to continue to use it. You could try DMPS if you want and see how you do/feel, and then just do occassional rounds of DMSA, like once a month or so, to take care of the lead, because Cutler says it slowly seeps out of the bones, and constant chelation isn't necessary.-----------Jackie Thanks.
