Guest guest
I have thought of taking this for awhile.. It is also good to help get rid of ecoli overgrowth causing cystitis. { a main problem of mine} .. I have seen a study of it for this problem with good results , somewhere in my google travels.. (It increases the " second messenger " , cyclic AMP, used by many hormones and neurotransmitters -- that's all I know). I don't have access to adrenal or thyroid prescriptions (although I do have a growth hormone prescription, which is very helpful). I've been taking coleus forskohlii by Enzymatic Therapy according to the bottle recommendations (2 per day) but on page 152 Andy recommends 80 mg, and my capsules contain only 9 mg forskolin -- so I'm thrilled to be able to increase the dose of this magic herb. ----------I took Forskolin for quite awhile, but can't say I noticed anything good or bad about it. I was using the VRP brand, and probably took 2/day, which may not have been enough (says 100mg, 10% forskolin). It certainly sounds wonderful in AI and on the bottle, but I just don't know if I really need it, or if I wasn't taking enough of it. So if you could elaborate on how it is helping you and why you call it a magic herb, that would be very helpful! I don't have them all figured out yet, but I think forskolin helps for what I would call metabolic fatigue, including inappropriate hunger and weakness (hypoglycemia?). I think it feels similar to Adrenal Cortex Extract but gentler, with no side effects (e.g., ACE can give me greasy skin). Incidentally, What Andy calls " hypoglycemia " I would call " functional hypoglycemia " , meaning it behaves as hypoglycemia even though lab numbers may not show it. For months I tried to catch some low-blood- sugar readings with a gluco-meter during my acute metabolic crashes, without success. In a semi-stuper, my blood sugars were usually around 90 (but my blood pressure was often only 85/55). Kris H.
