Guest guest
Hard to believe Phil has been gone 2 weeks! The boys and I are doing fairly well. On the Christmas front we put up the tree and will be in Erie for Christmas attending services at Mt. Calvary. I went shopping for the boys presents with a friend Gae and later got a few things for myself including a Willow Tree Nativity set and a heart charm with PHIL on one side and TOGETHER IN SPIRIT on the other. Emotional to say the least. I have all the financial stuff figured out and should do quite well. Phil took good care of me. After Christmas I have physical exams, employment and a hearing test as well as CURVES to reduce my ever growing curves in my future. But for now am planning a visit with the boys to my Mom's in Massachusetts for Dec.26-Jan.2. Emotionally I have my ups and downs. The boys have their moments at times but mostly avoid the subject and go about their lives. Dan has Pastor Baglyos as support and Tim has his guidance counselor. I have a pastor friend I have seen in the past but also will be going to a bereavement group at the Cancer Center in addition to my online colon cancer support group who I am staying w ith. There are no words to thank everyone that receives this update for the love you have shown us. May God bless you Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah Love ya all Narice, Dan and Tim
Guest guest
Dear Narice, I am so sorry for your loss. I have only been in the group for a short time, but you have been so helpful, and now I realize what you have been going through. God bless you and your family. Guest guest
So nice to hear from you! Yes, time does go by so fast! Thank you for staying in touch, and Happy Holidays to you too! Happy Holidays to everyone in this group too! I am working everyday and have taken on a second job so that I can clear up this cancer financial mess. I am not going in for any more scans (My insurance company only covers one PET scan a year) and I am having my port removed next week. I have done so much chemo that my body is just now getting ouT of the neuropathy mode, and my weight is coming back. My blood counts are back to normal, and my hair is coming back STRAIGHT! It used to be curly! Although I have more GREY hair!! Thats cool though, as us guys look " seasoned " . I am sleeping soundly at night with no sleep aids. In fact I have not put anything in my mouth that has Rx attached to it. No problems, and I am number 2ing only twice a day, rather than 10 times a day. Doctor says its my choice, and since CEA looks normal, and I feel great, there is not much we can do. I am having more problems with GAS, but I am trying BEANO with hopes that will keep the bubbles down. Take care ALL! JAY Narice's update Dec. 21 Hard to believe Phil has been gone 2 weeks! Guest guest
Narice, so good to see your update! Some of us cannot even imagine what you are going through, dealing with the loss of a spouse. But we all have felt loss in our life, so we can understand your emotional times. May God continue to give you and your boys support, comfort and strength. All the good things. Happy Holidays to you and your family. ~Deb from KS flipper759@... wrote: Hard to believe Phil has been gone 2 weeks! The boys and I are doing fairly well. Guest guest
Thanks Narice for your update. Wow, you are a strong and vital woman. I think you are doing great. What a good approach - sort of " making your list " and checking things off. Keeping busy- and being there for your boys. Very, very positive things. My heartfelt thoughts are with you through the holidays. Don't forget to allow yourself to be sad. It is important to grieve, especially such a total blow to your life. You are a great Mom and person. We all could strive to be more like you. God bless you and your boys, Love Pat flytodeb wrote: Narice, so good to see your update!
