Hello Everyone,

I recent received the following request and I am hoping some of you may be able to point me in the right direction.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

"I'm looking for information about exposure to mercury among migrant populations in Oregon. Do you have any resources on this or have suggestions for where I might find information? I understand that some Latino populations have been known to use mercury for medicinal and religious purposes. Any help you could provide on this topic would be much appreciated. Thanks."

Everyone,

I am looking for a handout, brochure, etc. that can be given

to farmworkers that educates them about lightning safety. This could

include fact sheets about the dangers of lightning, steps to take to prevent

being struck by lightning when storms come, etc. I hope that helps.

Josh,

Here is a resource in Florida - in English. Not sure if this will help or not.

Hi Josh,

The NAWS has been asking about barriers to

health care since 1993. A version of the questionnaire with these

questions should be on the NAWS web site at DOL

http://www.doleta.gov/agworker/naws.cfm

We are currently reviewing and revising

the questions slightly, so if you are interested in them, let me know and I

will send the updated versions when we have them.

The data from the questions are available

up through 2006 in public access data on that same web site. Contact me

if you want already calculated tables with results.

Hello

Everyone,

I

am looking for information on barriers to health care access for farmworkers.

Specifically, any studies that have

been

conducted or survey instruments that have been created assessing farmworker

We carried out a fairly comprehensive Hispanic Health Assessment in

Lake

County, FL (Central Florida) for the Puentes Para La Vida/Lake County

Community Health Worker Program. Of the 169 people surveyed in the 76

questions survey (45% open ended). 28% reported working in the green

industry. We gathered information on health status and barriers to

accessing care. Might this be of assistance?
