What I do knows is that it gives you a much more accurate picture of what your blood sugar levels readings have been than pin-point readings. Perhaps some others could enlighten us if they have more info. I believe Jackie mentioned this a few days ago? I would like to know the answers to your questions also, I mentioned it because the subject was about blood sugar ratio's changing between hair tests, so perhaps you were looking for a more reliable long-term indicator. What use is this test? ---------As Dean said, it tells you what your blood sugar levels have been like over the past 2-3 months, instead of just a snapshot in time, like a regular glucose test does. Your blood sugar fluctuates during the day, but this test will tell you if you've been consistently high or low (or hopefully normal) over the past few months. It is probably used more for diabetics and pre-diabetics, but it will also show if you are consistently low, or hypoglycemic.---------Jackie > What will the test tell me that i do not already know and what will > this new understanding enable me to do, to make myself better? -----------If you are high or low, then you will want to watch your diet. A high protein/low carb diet will help to keep your blood sugar levels more even. Frequent, small meals, with protein every time, and chromium picolinate with every meal is supposed to help too. If you are on the high end, then you may want to count carbs and/or pay attention to the glycemic index, etc. Like a banana and yogurt for breakfast, sounds healthy, right? Well, not good for your adrenals and not good for controlling blood sugar. Too many carbs and not enough protein. (And the banana has alot of potassium, and us with adrenal problems usually need sodium in the morning.)---------Jackie > Can you suggest any further reading on this subject? ----------I guess it depends on whether you're high or low. If you're high, then read about diabetes, the glycemic index, insulin resistance, etc. If you're low, then read about hypoglycemia. That is mentioned in AI more often. There is some mention of these in HTI also. Hypoglycemia seems to happen more often in metal poisoning and goes along with adrenal fatigue (but not always). But Andy does mention high blood sugar/type 2 diabetes also as being a result of mercury and arsenic poisoning (and maybe others, but I have those two metals.) If you have elevated arsenic and high blood sugar levels, then read HTI sections about arsenic. Andy says to eat as much of an Atkins style diet as you can stand, and this does seem to fit for me. Otherwise, just google away!---------Jackie > > Sunshine Hi Sunshine, I'm afraid I don't know too much about this either. I was 6.4, so still a little high, but honestly I haven't been too careful about it this summer. But it was down quite a bit from a year ago, when I did *way* too much stress dosing with HC. Lesson learned there! Anyway, the normal range is 4.6 - 6.2. If you are high, then you are pre-diabetic or diabetic, and if you are low, then you are hypoglycemic. Hope this helps.----------Jackie I would like to know the answers to your questions also, I mentioned it because the subject was about blood sugar ratio's changing between hair tests, so perhaps you were looking for a more reliable long-term indicator. Hypoglycemic means low blood sugar, and pre-diabetic means high blood sugar.----------Jackie but said there was nothing i could do about it anyway. -----------Well that's just nuts! He didn't tell you to watch your carbs? Good thing you're not seeing him any more!----------Jackie I will not be seeing that doctor > > again in any case. .-.-.-.-.-.-Sunshine >
