Guest guest
I'm gonna try some ALA on the next round. I will be using ALA only 4mg every 2.5 hours in the day and 3 hours at night for 3 days. If things get rough can I stop the ALA and finish the round with DMSA only?…..even if I start the round with ALA only? I assume the answer is no, but I thought I'd check anyway Sunshine

Yes. People often do a round with DMSA and ALA, and continue to take the DMSA for a few doses or more after they have stopped the ALA. The advise is always that if things get really rough, stop the round. I don't see why not continue with DMSA. I just did an ALA round, while taking DMPS as well, and I had to stop the ALA early because I missed a dose, then I had to stop the DMPS because I missed a dose. Sometimes these things can't be helped. > I assume the answer is no, but I thought I'd check anyway > > Sunshine >

Round will be ALA only....i'm asking if things get rough using ALA only, can I stop/end the ALA only and then immeditately start DMSA only and then finish the round with DMSA only? Obviously i would keep the same dosing schedule/timings. I still assume this is the wrong thing to do, i assume best to just stop the round. But, I think this may have been discussed before, and Cutler *might* have said it was ok. I think that DMSA works differently than ALA, so this *might* be ok to do. Because if its ok to start and stop ALA during a chelation round at different times than DMSA, then maybe it's ok to start DMSA at the end of an ALA round? But, I don't have time to search archives, and would probably be a hard post to find, but if you want to do some searching, you might find something on it. Anybody else remember reading anything like this?----------Jackie Sunshine > I just did an ALA round, while taking DMPS as well, and I had to stop > the ALA early because I missed a dose, then I had to stop the DMPS > because I missed a dose.
