Guest guest
I just finished my 6th week chelating with DMSA.: week days on days off mg DMSA interval(hrs) 1 4 3 12 3 2 4 3 25 3 3 5 2 25 3 4 5 2 50 3 5 5 2 50 3 6 4 3 50 3 I did not notice any difference either on or off and generally my symptoms have improved since starting chelation. More energy, more mental clearity, less peripheral neuropathy. The last two days I have felt the best since getting toxic. I took my last dose at 12:00 am last night and about 6 hours later I began getting intense stomach cramps which slowly improved, but generally I became very weak and achy -- kind of like the flu. I do not have a fever. I know it is impossible for anyone to say for sure if this is dumping, redistribution or maybe I just caught some bug, Just thought i'd put it out there for any opinions. Thanks, Jon

I think that you have been increasing your dose too fast. I would stick with 25 mg and see how that goes. > Thanks, > > Jon >

First, you are supposed to take as many days off as on, and you are not doing that. I read the above as 4 on/3 off, and 5 on/2 off, so you should be taking more time off between rounds. Second, you are ramping up your dosage too fast. We suggest a minimum of four rounds at the same dose, with little or no side effects, before doing a dosage increase. People have found that side effects can sneak up on them after a few rounds. Third, Andy suggests only increasing your dosage by 50%, and you have doubled it each time you've increased. This won't cause problems for everyone, but many can't handle that large of an increase. So maybe this has worked for you, but I do want to caution others, that this would be too fast for many, and could cause alot of problems/side effects. And maybe it does have something to do with the problem you mention below.-------Jackie I did not notice any difference either on or off and generally my symptoms have improved since starting chelation. Problems don't always show up right away. But you may be lucky, and be one of those who tolerate higher dosages, but still, be careful.---------Jackie I took my last dose at 12:00 am last night and about 6 hours later I began getting intense stomach cramps which slowly improved, but generally I became very weak and achy -- kind of like the flu. Might be worth doing some reading and checking into.--------Jackie I know it is impossible for anyone to say for sure if this is dumping, redistribution or maybe I just caught some bug, Just thought i'd put it out there for any opinions. ----------Yes, hard to say. How many months post amalgam removal are you? Since it happened within hours of ending a round, I would think redistribution would be the most likely culprit.---------Jackie Thanks, Jon
