T3: 4.20 | Range: 2.30-4.20 T4: 1.91 | Range:0.98-1.76 TSH:4.909| Range: 0.35-5.5 Seems to be quite ok maybe a bit too high? Is there any possibility of having thyroid malfunction despite normal test results? ---------I assume this is *Free* T3 and T4? I don't know if the ranges are different at different labs, or because of age and gender, but they are a little different than mine. (I'm female, age 44) Anyway, yes, your T4 is above range, and your T3 is right at the top too. So normally, in this case, I would think that your TSH should be low, or much lower than it is. Your pituitary is supposed to sense how much thyroid hormone is in the blood, and when it's high like this, then it should *not* be sending out more TSH, because TSH is the hormone released by the pituitary, telling the thyroid to make more hormone, when it's low. So this doesn't make sense. So I'm assuming you're not taking any thyroid hormone? If you were, your numbers would probably be fine, with the exception that you would expect the TSH to be low when you are supplementing it. I assume your temperatures are normal? Do you have low thyroid symptoms, is that why you were tested? Because with your T3 and T4 elevated, you shouldn't be having hypo symptoms. You should be on the verge of being *hyper* thyroid. Have you ever been tested for thyroid antibodies? When you have Hashi's, you thyroid levels can fluctuate, and that could be what's happening here, if you feel hypo sometimes. So, if you feel like you're having hypo symptoms, even with the above results, then I would test for antibodies. If those are negative, then it's probably just things are messed up from your pituitary and hypothalamus being somewhat mercury poisoned, and sending the wrong messsages. If your temps are normal and you don't have hypo symptoms, then I wouldn't worry about it. We really need more info from you about your symptoms, etc., to really say anymore.----------Jackie
Guest guest
Thanks much for the detailed reply. #### I assume this is *Free* T3 and T4? Yes it's free t3, t4. #### So I'm assuming you're not taking any thyroid hormone? No im not taking any thyroid supplement. #### I assume your temperatures are normal? I don't know. Probaby yes but i am EXTREMELY sensitive to cold so i feel cold very easily. I also have cold hands and feets all the time. #### Do you have low thyroid symptoms, is that why you were tested? Not sure what all the low thyroid symptoms are. I wasn't even sure if im hyper or hypo think both can cause some of the symptoms that i experience: irritability, depression, anxiety, low energy, feeling cold, brain fog, some cognitive problems, mood swings (but this went away or is greatly reduced and controlled with chelation and vitamin/mineral supplements) I read that hypothyroidism can cause weight gain. I am however quite thin. I can basically eat what i want without gaining any weight but i am not really underweight. What is also very interesting is that when all my toxicity problems seemed to start i became extremly sensitive to cold. That's why i was asking myself if my thyroid could be affected. #### Have you ever been tested for thyroid antibodies? No, but I am considering it. I'm really not a thyroid expert, just been learning since I've been here, and trying to figure out my own whacky thyroid numbers.-------Jackie #### I assume this is *Free* T3 and T4? You can read about this at Dean's website, or 's Temperature Syndrome site. I'm curious what your temps are with your numbers being high.-------Jackie #### Do you have low thyroid symptoms, is that why you were tested? Not sure what all the low thyroid symptoms are. You might want to take a look at it.----------Jackie http://www.drrind.com/scorecardmatrix.asp ----------And some people like this website.---------Jackie http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com I read that hypothyroidism can cause weight gain. If you haven't checked into the adrenal part of this, then I think you should. The two are really tied together, and many of us have problems with both.------------Jackie ---------Also, you could ask Dean, because I think he said that he is thin, and would have never guessed that he had a thyroid problem.---------Jackie What is also very interesting is that when all my toxicity problems seemed to start i became extremly sensitive to cold. No, but I am considering it. -----------Would probably be a good thing to do, if you still think you might have a thyroid problem. I would also read about adrenals, and consider having them tested too, if you haven't already. And what about your other hormones, ever test any of them?----------Jackie
