testing done, that you know you're adrenals are in really bad shape?

If they are, and you aren't treating them, then you really need to

focus on them for awhile. I would suggest saliva testing, and if you

have never done it yet, I would do all the hormones, adrenal and sex

hormones too. Lots of links in the links section.---------Jackie

adrenal function. Have been on HC for over a year now.

-------------Are you taking any other adrenal support, like ACE, lots of Vit

C, B5---pantothenic acid? I think the ACE really helps, besides the HC.

Was your DHEA low too? Are you supplementing that?---------Jackie

I also had

complete hormone profile & subsequently started on Prog/Est.

---------How were your testosterone levels?---------Jackie

I think

the hormones have been very beneficial in other ways. Still have

considerable fatigue, weakness, low temps, cold etc which causes me

to believe that something is missing. Armour or ST3 hasn't helped -

has me pretty perplexed. Maybe I need a much higher dosage or

's protocol can kick-start functioning?

----------Possibly. I am also in the process of re-evaluating hormones,

because something isn't right with me yet either. Waiting for lab results. I

was just reading at the Dr. Rind website, and he says that if adrenals are low

and weak, that the pituitary senses that, and will keep thyroid low to help

protect the adrenals. This makes sense to me, and I think I might be in that

boat too. So maybe our adrenals haven't healed enough yet, for the thyroid to

be able to work better.

But to be honest, I'm not on thyroid hormone, so definitely not an expert.

Have you asked on other hormone forums? And I guess if my temps were still low

and you still have symptoms, then I would either try higher doses of Armour or

possibly the 's protocol. Have you read his stuff about Reverse T3? I

think Dean's website has a pretty good recap of all of this thyroid

stuff.-----Jackie

I take 25mcg selenium -

is that the same as selenomethionine? Joy

----------There are different forms of selenium, and selenomethionine is one

of them, and is the form recommended by Andy. It should say on the bottle. And

I know everyone is different in what/how much they tolerate, but that does sound

like a rather small dose of selenium. Have you ever tried more? I take

200-300mcg a day. It is supposed to help with the conversion of T4 to T3, so is

important for thyroid hormone function.

And do you take iodine, or have you ever tried it? And tyrosine is supposed

to be good for the thyroid too.-----------Jackie

things out of whack. Another thought, have you ever had your

ferritin levels checked? That can affect thyroid also.-----------
