Thanks everybody for all your replies to my problem. I've taken them all onboard. I have definitely been told about adrenals before, but was always apprehensive to include ACE or Cortisone, because I knew somebody that did this and they were constantly being messed up and then adjusting doses and I saw somebody frankly never getting better, but on a merry-go-round. IT put me off. I don't mind herbal stuff as such and I'm willing to use that, but still nervous about ACE. I realise people here seem to be complimentary about it and looks like some of you have had good results. Can it help a person fight infections? And will it make a person reliant upon it to where adrenals will become even less efficient over time? That scares me. Please excuse my concerns, but I am not willing to risk a worse thing occuring down the track. it's bad enough. Yeah, worse yeast with ALA could well be a sign there are metals present, but my body is too weak/burdened to deal with it or excrete at the moment. I do not respond to detoxes/cleanses either, and I have tried them in the past and they did not do enough for me. So I am assuming that my long term infection has taken a toll on my system (glandular) and is too burdened to throw up proper healing crisis and deal with the toxins. I received an email from someone who works in a laboratory in my country and they recommended vitamins/minerals , herbs and ACE (as well)....I'm tempted I really am, but nervous. Just need more reassurance regarding my queries about it (reliance etc). Thanks so much again. Sorry for the delay in replying, been busier than usual. PS, not sure if I have detoxed my brain. I never did much ALA. Had a strong reaction to it onetime, but ever since, I've just had no reactions to it even at very high doses. I guess yeast is still a sign? >

IT put me off. -----Getting my adrenal and thyroid supports in place and at the correct dose transformed my life for the better. I found it very difficult to get my head around all this stuff, but the results were well well worth all the hard work in understanding this tricky subject. when I stop the adrenal or thyrpoid supps i immediately start feeling rough again, so i know how important this stuff is. > I don't mind herbal stuff as such and I'm willing to use that, but > still nervous about ACE. These glands (both adrenal and thyroid) control your metabolism, if they are damaged & function at below par your whole body operates below par. If you boost them, support them with supplements, everything in your body will work better. Everything. You been hanging around these boards for ages....why do think you see so many people saying how important getting supps in place for adrenals and thyroids are? its because getting the supports right will trasform your well being. And will it make a > person reliant upon it to where adrenals will become even less > efficient over time? ------no, ACE is not like that...see my reply below That scares me. Please excuse my concerns, but I > am not willing to risk a worse thing occuring down the track. it's bad > enough. -----I concur, I use herbs and supps as much as possible. ACE = Adrenal Cortex Extract = crushed up and dried adrenal glands from organic cows. Actually they mostly come from New Zealand. mine do anyway. not the nicest thing to imagine but at least it is not man- made. ACE provides raw materials to support adrenal function. It also contains some important adrenal hormones. Helping to relieve the adrenal glands' burden allows the following to occur: Relief from the symptoms of poorly functioning adrenals much sooner than waiting for the adrenals to become healthy again – a process that can take weeks or months. Faster adrenal recovery. (from here http://www.drrind.com/adrensupport.asp) I.E. Ace provies your body with the building blocks to rebuild your adrenal gland......and thats something i approve of...actually rebuilding and repairing my damaged body, as opposited to just supporting it. > > Yeah, worse yeast with ALA could well be a sign there are metals > present, but my body is too weak/burdened to deal with it or excrete at > the moment. I guess yeast is still a sign? ----------yes, yeast is a sign. not a cast-iron sign, but given everything else thats happened.....its a sign to take note of. Guest guest
Hi Sunshine ;-) Thanks for your excellent response. I just needed the extra reassurance that taking ACE won't make a problem worse in the long run (but better short term). Is it easy to get hold of? Or do you have to get it via a doctor? It was certainly mentioned as one of the things to take from the email I got, alongside the other support supplements. But your post eased any reservations I had. Thank you. > > -----------Hi ADAM;-) > ----- These glands (both adrenal and > thyroid) control your > metabolism, if they are damaged & function at below par your whole > body operates below par.
