I have 7 silver amalgams still in and recently a pc of one broke off and I swallowed it and last week hada HORRIBLE experience at the dentist where they drilled out the rest of the filling (no dam) and now I am quite ill. Is there anything I can take NOW to help mop up some of the mercury that is likely swirling around in my gut etc? ----------If it was really recent, then taking activated charcoal can help soak up whatever is left in your gut. My dentist had me take it right before and right after each amalgam removal. The charcoal will only work/help in the gut though, it does not get absorbed into the blood. The other thing you can do is to take *lots* of Vit C, as much as you can tolerate. My dentist told me to take 1 gram every hour after my removals. And I currently still take about 9 grams a day. If you take too much, all it will do is give you diarrhea. Other antioxidants like Vit E might help too. The other thing that is supposed to help passify the mercury is selenium. It should be in the selenomethionine form. I think 200-400mcg is the maximum, and if you have never taken it before, I would start out with a smaller amount and see how you do. Don't overdo the selenium, because you can become toxic with it if you take too much. If you do try the charcoal, realize that it is going to absorb anything, including any other supplements you take, so don't take them at the same time. Jackie Thanks for any ideas. It's likely too late for the charcoal - but that's good to know. I will try the vit C and selenium. What about bentonite clay? ---------I don't think it will do any harm, but probably won't do anything different than the charcoal would do either. It's not part of the protocol here, so up to you if you want to try it. Here's a post by Andy.-------Jackie http://onibasu.com/archives/am/48503.html I appreciate the suggestions! It's the sulphur foods post. Andy's post earlier in that thread mentions bentonite.
