If they are open-minded, then do as said, and give them the flyer from the book to get their own book. Just tell him you are following Cutler's protocol and you will not take those supplements, and if he knew anything about chelation, that he would never prescibe ALA before amalgam removal. And I don't remember if it was in this group of AMC, but someone just recently posted that she followed the IAOMT recommendation to take ALA before amalgam removal, and after two doses, her legs went numb. That should be enough of a reason right there. You need to remember that you are in charge and you are the one who has to live with the consequences, so don't let the doctor bully you into doing something that may be harmful. He's not going to come to your house and take care of you when something goes wrong.--------Jackie Thanks, Liz
Guest guest
, Thanks for stating the case against using these supplements before removal so succinctly. I highly doubt my doctor would take the time to read Cutler's book (as it is, I get the most terse of replies from him when I email him), but I may print out a couple of things for him to read regarding these supplements. I know that the doctor I have is not necessarily ideal or perfect, but I honestly feel lucky just to have an intelligent integrative doctor who's open-minded and willing to try the things I suggest. He's also the first to admit when he doesn't know the exact answer to something, which I respect. I feel like if he's willing to go along with Cutler's protocol, it doesn't matter so much if he completely understands it, but maybe I'm being naive in thinking that. I guess the idea behind taking these supplements is that they're all powerful antioxidants (although glutathione is basically nothing, b/c, as you pointed out, it's immediately broken down into its component parts after ingestion), and he wanted me to take a lot of antioxidants in preparation for the removal and chelation. I'll just explain to him that I won't take those supplements, but I'll continue taking vitamin C and vitamin E, both powerful antioxidants. If nothing else, I already knew that the NAC and alpha lipoic acid are harmful to me since I was taking a product that contains both of these, which made me feel awful (this was before I had any idea about their relation to mercury). I'm not sure if this is a question that you could answer for me, but I was looking at the " suggested supplements " file, and I'm already taking a number of the things suggested, but I'm wondering if there are any of these that you would say are pretty vital to take in preparation for amalgam removal/chelation? Andy says that the 4 top ones are zinc, magnesium, vit C and vit E. So those are the first to include. After that, I would include B vitamins, milk thistle, cod liver or fish oil instead of the flax oil (or both), vit A instead of carotenes, and then the others. ***** Buffered vitamin C 1/2 to 2 grams 4 times a day B complex equivalent to " b25 " or " b50 " 4 times a day Zinc 50-100 mg Magnesium 500-1000 mg in divided doses Milk thistle extract 4 times a day preferably w/meals Vitamin E 1000-3000 IU daily Mixed carotenes, lycopene, etc. flax 1 tbsp - 15-50g borage oil 1-4grams Selenium 200 mcg as selenomethionine. Chromium picolinate 200 mcg with every meal. Molybdenum about 1000 mcg a day. CoQ10 100-400mg Hydergine 10-20mg/day
Guest guest
I agree with , and would just add that selenium is good too, especially during amalgam removal, because it is supposed to bind to mercury and make in inert. It doesn't chelate it, but makes it less harmful. And lots of antioxidants during this time also. Take as much Vit C as you can tolerate. I took activated charcoal right before and right after each removal session. And then I took 1 gram of Vit C every hour (or about) afterwards too. A Vit C IV wasn't available to me.---------Jackie In frequent-dose-chelation wrote: > > I'm not sure if this is a question that you could answer for me, but I > was looking at the " suggested supplements " file, and I'm already > taking a number of the things suggested, but I'm wondering if there > are any of these that you would say are pretty vital to take in > preparation for amalgam removal/chelation? > > I copied the file below.
